Thanks for posting that.  It helps to counteract the new wave Laguna compulsion which is gripping Autoshite.

I wish I'd posted it before getting the goona that modeled for the pics!

Is that not usually caused by a light coming on when a brake pedal is pushed, etc. I.e. dodgy earth to the rear lights?

Clean all of the contacts on the bulbs as well. As a serial Renault shiter, I have spent hours on Renault rear light clusters.

Heres a cracking V6 for not a lot of dollAr, its a Privilege spec not an Initiale though (picky) low miles and looks very unmolested!

Why has this got no bids on with only 10 hrs to go?!

I can only imagine its because its not Initiale and the interior looks drab - probably just needs a good scrub. Also he heater fan fault probably puts some off too. However plenty of them around the scrapyard now and also sometimes the fan failure can be caused by a weak battery - voltage dips too low when cranking, so the climate control unit has a hiccup.

On the plus side, it only done 62k and looks like it has pretty well looked after. Also he's done most of the miles since he's owned it - so any low mileage gremlin should have been knocked out. 4 new big branded tyres and non-smokers too! Something very rare at this end of the market, especially with self-detonating vehicles.

I'm just too damn fussy to bid on this one. I go against the norm here, but prefer the sharper look of the phase 2 and want all the Initiale toys...

Damn tempting though. Hmmmm.

That V6 looks pretty ace to me, interior is a bit drab as you say but it has lots to reccomend it still, it looks mega 'genuine' and is cheap as chips. The seller reckons he needs it shifted this weekend though - a tall order seeing as it finishes at 9pm tonight!

Posted

Plus side of that, is that if there is a time waster bidding, I'm sure he'd take a second chance offer to get rid of it over the weekend.

Can you retro fit better seats? Like heated/electric leather ones from an initiale. I wonder if the wiring is there to plug em in.

Posted

Those GT seats look like they have had a 'custom retrim' designed by one of these Barry bell ends who paint random bits of trim in Fisher-Price primary colour schemes.

This guy reckons so.

However I'm not sure if you can do phase 2 -> phase 1. Electrically the phase 2 was almost all CAN based, where as phase 1 was all k-line for diagnostics. So I think a fair bit was changed electrically between the two. Hence why I think the phase 2 may have had a rewire to solve some of the gremlins they have.

However worse case, may just loose the memory position based on keycard.

^ The pictures make it looks like it's just been abandoned on a motorway slip way. This could be you.

Was massssssively tempted to throw a bid in on that v6. Nearly almost did that but Vodafone's crappy network connection in the pub stopped that happening. Probably for the best as bidding on the cars while drunk and in a pub never ends well.

£405 seems a excellent price. Was it anyone from here that won?

It's weird seeing a modern car with a coach line. I noticed the new Renault twingos have coach lines on them. I presumed it was some old boy just adding some custom touches with ancient autopart coach line that had been sat in his shed since some Morris Ital customisation is 1984 but they're all like that.

And it's not even on straight!

That Reading one went for a bit too much for my liking tbh, stopped bidding at around 600 odd.

Anyone feeling brave for this one?

2.0T 170bhp with auto maybe dodgy box (AW55 flavour). Also ESP light - but that could be just the steering angle sensor needs realigning if the tracking has been done.

£400 and only 55k on the clock though.

Looks nice, i wouldnt kick it outta bed

this GT is up for 795, I reckon you'd get it for a bit less, it was £1300 a week ago, suggests a bit of desperation

They did put it on ebay with a load of 'WILL NOT END EARLY, WILL SELL FOR WHAT IT SELLS FOR' etc etc but they put it in the flippin parts section, so predictably they pulled it after it had been bid up to £150 (by me) after a week

Speaking of people not budging on price, I've been messaging that kitchen sink repaired silver ph2 v6 (the one that looks immaculate from the pics) that is down near Brighton way.

The auction is currently on 1.2k - no bids. However he told me that he's not going to sell it for lower than 1.5k for it? Also said that that is what someone else offered for it - not sure why you'd not take that offer...

But then he also states that his NCB needs transferring to his new car, so needs to sell....

I'm tempted to bid 1.2k, just to see if he'll actually sell it to me. But then that's still £200 over book price. He seems to think that by listing all the work its had done in the last few months makes it look like its been cared for - when in reality most people think "that's had a lot of work, it must be a very unreliable car that one".

If that work has been done - especially the belts, then 1.2k is probably what it'd cost me to get a cheap one and get the belts done (i.e. £600-700 car, +£500 ish belts). But then I don't want to be paying for someone's unrealistic expectations. Also his attitude kinda stinks a bit too.

He's been trying to sell it for weeks and still listing it up on gumtree for 1.7k and not had any biters. I'm a bit confused.

Posted

Perhaps his Mrs. has told him he has to get rid and the adverts are purely to demonstrate to her that he's "trying".

Posted

I dunno to be honest, its hard to say. Going by the history of it, it seems that he does kind of need to get rid of it.

The full story that I've noticed: (Yes I have been tracking this one closely!)

Started as eBay £1600 - Buy It Now. RFS was "She drives like a dream and the reason of sale is genuine as I'm relocating to an new house and commuting with that beast would not be economical any longer. Reluctantly, I have to buy a diesel or other small petrol car! Swaps considered, preferably on Yaris 1.0 - 1.3 or Laguna dci."

A couple weeks later it was listed on Gumtree for £1950. eBay auction stayed up for a week or two and then disappeared.

Gumtree went down to £1700 (still up there).

Another couple of weeks after it was first listed on Gumtree, it was then listed on eBay as an auction. £1200 and 10 days. Still currently active but now with less than a day remaining and no bids. RFS is now "New car has been purchased and she needs to find a new home quickly!"

Chatting to him, he said that he's got 3 cars and he needs to transfer the NCB across asap. But then he reckons he won't budge on the price!

Is this laguna thread the dark side of the internet I keep hearing about on TV?
