That was code for my beloved partner killing me with extreme death if I invite a bunch of car crazies to camp in our large garden and do curry and lager powered poos in our several loos for a weekend.

At last we have been offered a date by the C&PR Railway for an exclusive visit.

We have been offered Saturday 25th June 2016.

We need about 35 (they can take up to 65) to take the railway over, for me to judge if we can raise enough people I have produced a list, so please can you add yourself to the list if there is a good chance you will join in with this trip. The likely cost (yet to be confirmed) is £15.00 per adult. Arrivals at the railway from 11.00am.

If this date works then we will open our field up to Shitefest 2016.

Proposed Itinerary

Starting off with a freshly prepared light lunch in the railway's dining cars, we'll take a trip down the line to Horsenden Lane in W55023, a 1960 heritage 'bubble car' with twin AEC engines and an all round view of the countryside.

On our return, there will be a walking tour of the railway yard and the opportunity to get 'up close and personal' with steam, diesel and electric rolling stock, both in service and under restoration. You will be able to climb inside locomotive cabs and perhaps even walk through the engine bay of Class 31163, a mainline diesel locomotive!

For those who have always wanted to have a go at driving a locomotive, the 1953 diesel shunter 'Haversham' (13018/D3018/08011) will be on hand to offer 'Driver for a Fiver' driving turns up and down the platform, between the home signals. £5 in the donation bucket will get you a great 'thrash' up and down the platform, supervised by the C&PRR's friendly traincrew.

The fully operational Chinnor Signal Box will be open to take a look around and those feeling strong can have a go at pulling the levers!

The Tea Room will remain open for light refreshments and also the Station Shop, offering gifts for adults and children alike, a wide selection of transport books and Bachmann model trains.

The railway car park will then provide plenty of space to park up our cars for individual and group photographs, to record the occasion, before we close the day and head home.

The Railway has facilities for the less able-bodied and the station platform, WC, dining coaches, W55023 'bubble car' and lower part of the railway yard are all accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Well, no. That's why I asked about camping... you can't beat a night under canvas

can with stick - until it goes away

theres a travelodge north of oxford banbury or warwick

Camping with Autoshiters is great. You get to laugh at Mat and can then fall asleep without too much noise going on.

I think I will learn a lesson from last year (especially if I am to try and tackle Chinnor hill the following morning) and purchase ONLY enough alcohol for one night at a time. Rather than consuming the entire weekend's supplies within the first hour or so...

What's the rules on children? Eva would probably love it, and can be picked up back at chinnor by one of many people afterwards, so no bother there. Would I spoil the party if I invited my stepdad along for the train part? I'll pony up for him, but I doubt he will come for the after party...

If we're going up Chinnor hill I'll be tempted to get a tip run in at the top... They might have re-surfaced the road by then too, it's fucking shit at the top!

What food type bits are there by Chez Six-Cylinder? There's a Co-Op in Chinnor, sainsburys, waitrose and co-op in Thame, the nearest Asda's are quite far from Chinnor though...

Also what dates are possible camping/carping? Friday at yours, chinnor on sat, back to yours sat night and all buggar off home sunday?

C&PR Railway are fine with kids and there will be a reduces entry, so it's up to us as group. I say they are fine as long as they are keep on their leads!

I am concerned we won't make the required number so think having the odd friend along to make up the numbers might be a good thing.

Food at the railway, there is a small kitchen that produces sandwiches with different fillings and home-made cake along with crisps and confectionery.

I had anticipated Shitefest 2016 will open on the Friday and stragglers leave Monday. However if anybody wants to camp for longer either side of the event I don't see that as a problem, just let me know.

Ah Eva loves trains, and has never been on a steam one before, so that should be OK. Her aunt lives over the road from the cement works, and amys mum lives up the road, as does her sister so should the worse happen she won't be 5 minutes away from not being there!

There will no steam running if we take the railway for ourselves, as the cost is just prohibitive. Diesel only I am afraid.

Of course, that will teach me for replying before I'm awake!

I asked her, mentioned Diesel and she nodded anyway, so that'll do! Would it help if the Midlands/Scottish brothers bought down shit loads of veg?

What's the likely cost for a child? My nephew and niece may enjoy this if we open things up a bit.
