Thanks.

I have owned a Rover 111 so that kind of brings that into question.

Nobody on here will ever claim to be perfect so don't worry about it.

Most of us have owned way worse.

On its way to a better life. I miss it already:-(

Ah, but there is a plus. I has some monies now and a space on the drive.  :-D

Bit of a sad end to this thread. The bloody thing had to go home on a recovery truck with a nasty knocking engine...

Will update as we find what is wrong with the poor blighter!!!

Absolutley gob smacked! I have been bombing around in it since the MOT, three weeks ago , no probs at all.

Oh no! I did not see that coming.

I would like to be able to make some suggestions as to what could be the cause but the engine never gave a moments trouble and felt like it would go on forever. That really is a rotten bit of luck but definitely worth fixing as I know that otherwise this car is a damn good one.

Will just have to see if it is economical. You are more than welcome to have it back......

Just out of interest mossy, what oil did you use when you did the last service?

I cant honestly remember. Something fairly standard from halfords I expect.

I only ask as fully synthetic oil can play merry havoc with these engines and was trying to rule that out.

Hopefully it's not too bad!

I am pretty sure I serviced it about this time last year, at the same time the front brake pads where changed. I think it got Halford 10W40 part synthetic and a new filter but I can't say for certain.
