Interestingly* Honda also use covered trains, but Ford don't bother...

Bini and Jaguar Land Rover use covered trains. Ford use open wagons for cars (double deck) and vans (single deck). Honda stopped using rail some years back.

Episode two felt a lot tighter and better produced, still some awkward hand overs but as bad as the first episode. With everything that they've shown us plus everything/everyone they didn't mention it does make me wonder how on Earth any of these buggers actually make any money!

I attempted to get a job in the industrial engineering department at MINI oxford, but apparently my hourly rate demands were too high. Which is what I think about their original equipment prices at their dealers.

The feature about driverless cars scared the shit out of me too. Manufacturers want all cars to be automated within the next 20 years but the only way they will work is if all the cars on the road were also automated, surely that means they are pushing "normal" cars to extinction at some point in the future?

Does that mean that police cars will be automated as well? Also will cars have some sort of program that shuts the car down if an officer of the law wants a chat with someone inside? There are lots of questions that pop into my head

Yep. They will drive it through insurance prices.

Humans are the most dangerous part of car. You want to drive that will be £15k please. Oh you don't want to drive that much, why not join the apple pod scheme. Free insurance, no fuel costs, no depreciation, no licence needed.

25 years from now car ownership will be thing of past. Why would you want a piece of metal that is slowly decaying on your drive way when you can have a subscription to a pod service.

The pod will be summoned by a button and one will be sent from the local pod station. You can have any size depending on whether by yourself or with family. End of journey pod returns to nearest station to recharge

Inside will be flexible screens which can be anything you want from latest movie to 3d autoshite. You can even order sleeper pods for those longer distances.

Pods will be optimised for efficiency and will be monitored centrally so no accidents.

I reckon a child born today won't sit a driving test. They won't need to.

I dare say if you had to drive the car to a certain dedicated motorway then it automatically took over until your exit there won't be as much of a problem,

Sort of like a huge train snaking up and down the country.

The show did make me look at Kate Humble in a different and more lustful light.
