I incorrectly said above that the car has done 122,000 miles.  I was getting it mixed up with my skanky Jag.  In fact the Bimmer has only done 109,000 and summat, so there.

Three excuses:

1. Audi already does late 80s German executive duties and can't be sold at the moment cos it's out on loan to a mate who temporarily needs an auto

2. I am banned from having any more gold cars with brown velour (nightmare - REALLY need to appeal that decision)

3. I've just bought something else, to be revealed tomorrow.
