That is a nice maxi VA and you have the correct nationality for clue number two.

SD1?

Is it a 1968 Colliday Chariot which was written off in the early '70s after a track day incident and then re-registered in 1978 after being fitted with a V8 and an indicator stalk from a '78 Tatra 613?

It is, isn't it?

Not lotus. I did see a twin plenum sd1 while viewing something similar to my new purchase. I already have a poo brown allegro Louise.

Buckateer, inspired guess work but not correct this time.

I am being a bit of a toss3r as it's off the autoshite radar.

More clues: 3.8 litre

Getting warmer*

3.8 litre from factory and no, not a car.

NNW you get one white mastermind peg.

It's rougher than that jag and cost 1500 spondoolics

I was going to say Mk3 Cortina, swayed by Alexei, but 1978 with a 3.8 litre engine?

Range Rover?

Green Cortina. Or beige estate.

Although I'm not convinced having a poo brown allegro is reason enough to rule out having another poo brown allegro. Esp if it were a vdp for special occasions.

I'd never heard of Hymac, so wouldn't have gone that route!

Had to look that one up.  Coincidentally, this picture of what appears to be a bright yellow stiletto shoe turned up in my search.  Only it's not a shoe.

Did the Ferret not get the 4.2 XK?  And would one with a 2.4 be a 'reverse Ferret'?
