320touring Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 I might* travel up on Saturday afternoon - has somewhere for food been decided on?I've not booked my hotel yet, and was going to book the HIEX Glenrothes (because free with points) but could do elsewhere if meeting up for food Saturday night. David - that's not good mate, we need the reigning GLF champ in attendance.i had tried to get folks tallied for dinner, but no much success!
explosive-cabbage Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Looking forward to this, should be a good way to spend a birthday weekend! So far I am planning to have dinner in a nice Italian in Edinburgh on Friday, then to see Sigma (drum and bass) till 10.30, then on to a electonica night in Liquid Circus (club in Edinburgh), up early on Saturday, head north over the A9 and Cairngorms to Ellon near Aberdeen for a tour round the brewdog brewery, then down towards Crail for FOADWORX, beers, camping then racing, then home. That's if it all goes to plan! chaseracer, 320touring and KruJoe 3
davidfowler2000 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 News Updates... ScotRail trainees do not work Sundays. Count me in for dinner on Saturday and GLF! Where is dinner btw? skattrd and 320touring 2
Richard Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 How about an "eat all you can" Chinese buffet just off the Bankhead roundabout in Glenrothes? http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186531-d7611391-Reviews-Beijing_Banquet-Glenrothes_Fife_Scotland.htmlAnother possibility would be one of the Identikit eateries at Halbeath. davidfowler2000 and skattrd 2

skattrd Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Good news David, I reckon my boring might be able to take the turbo brick on the strip I'm now planning on being up in time for dinner, but am happy with any suggestion.
davidfowler2000 Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Chinese buffet will always get a vote from me.
rml2345 Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Isn't Rml bringing the biscuit tin for sub 1l hoonage.Yup! Thinking a quick oil change might be a good idea...And all you can eat sounds like a challenge.
320touring Posted October 20, 2015 Author Posted October 20, 2015 Ok shall we say Beijing Banquet in Glenrothes (ky7 6gh) at 7pm on Saturday? I'll fire everyone my number via PM this evening so you all have the ability to contact. Richard, can you see if we need to book tables please?
Richard Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Booking might be advisable, it's the main attraction in Glenrothes at the moment. If we can get a list of who is going I'll get on the case. The Forth Road Bridge will be closed so anybody from the wrong side of the Forth should navigate via the Kincardine or Clackmannanshire Bridge. KruJoe 1
Supernaut Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 I'd be up for this. Anybody else convoying down from up north? (Aberdeen)
dome Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 I may be along at some point if I can blag a pass out for the evening, I'll see how my weekend pans out. Tempted to beer on the saturday night...
320touring Posted October 21, 2015 Author Posted October 21, 2015 Getting your excuses in early I see;)
DodgyBastard Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I hope other people bring beer and not just me hahaha. Do we have access to tools at foadworx for tinkering?? I may need to adjust the fueling and idle as I messed up my settings fixing leaks and governor modding. I can't believe I have no smoke now and I know it needs more fuel in, may have it sorted by Saturday though (we can but hope)I'll bring some beer too, there will be tools if anyone wants to tinker with their cars. Chances are I'll be there most of the day but if you want to let me know when you're planning on coming that would be good.

skattrd Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Put me down for food on Saturday. I've not booked my hotel yet and the HIEX in Gleneothes is fully booked now, arses. I might have to pay for a room, or stay in Dundee again. I had to call in at the garage last night so passed the airfield on the way home, so thought I'd try another couple of drag starts. I read somewhere 2nd gear is better to set off in for a fast getaway. Current practice3x 1st gear starts - all with loadsa wheelspin3x 2nd gear starts - all 3 stalled. I may end up looking foolish this weekend.

davidfowler2000 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I'll be along to dinner on Saturday evening in the boring modern because fuel economy but I'll be there with the silver brick on Sunday to defend my title. skattrd and 320touring 2
cms206 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 It appears I may make it... new management find it hysterical that I plan to race a Kia Pride so if I am working Sunday it'll be a backshift. 320touring, skattrd, Richard and 1 other 4
KruJoe Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Just buy veg instead of the beer Chompy. That's a thing, is there any spare WVO in Scotlandshire available for us Yorkshire mingebags to swap for beers or ca$hmoney?
