Quite a traffic nightmare the 'dene underpass' [Corner House, Coast Rd]... Shoot thru now, gone in 20secs.

Worthwhile realignment, to be fair....

Bet they thought the church was going to topple.. lol

Interesting variety at Ridgeway Garages. Looks like a Galant in there (just seen the Mitsubishi symbol above the entrance doors). Maybe a 240 or 260Z at the far end?

The fake Tyne Bridge, Sunderland.

I prefer the fake Sydney Harbour bridge in Newcastle.

Scumcastle finished theirs first (cos it’s smaller), but the Aussie one was planned and started first.

Carry on.

You know how sometimes you open a thread and think wtaf this is excellent how have I managed to miss this? This is one of them and I’ve somehow managed to miss it every time for 4 whole years. Up to page 5 and making sure I keep it in an open tab so I can finish reading later...

I imagine that Mini dissolved before it made it back home.

Love the South Shields ones as I lived In Harton Lane and used to walk up through Harton Village as a school kid. Worked in the Trebon one summer. Mohamed Ali came past in a bus.

That was the first one anyway.

Tyne Tunnel 2 opened 2011.

What was the difference between 1 and 2?

I remember going through it on a day trip to Northumberland with my parents and a couple they were friends with, in a mk1 Granada.  I think it would be early 1985.  Can somehow remember stopping in Morpeth and going into a shop and there was a copy of a car mag with the brand new Renault Supercinq on the cover.

The difference between the two Tyne Tunnels?

Ones very old and ones very new?

One runs north only and one runs south only, both have two lanes and they're right next to each other.

Before the second tunnel opened it was one tunnel with one lane North and one lane South.

Sorry if I mis-understood the question.
