I bought a Starion

Actually, there are some boxes of parts with it. When I say boxes I mean six pallets with many boxes filling an entire marquee. I bought it off Retro Rides months ago and after one failed journey I filled my Astra with stuff today, and will need another journey for the rest (in a van, I only got the light stuff). The journey is epic, a 550 mile round trip, had to leave at 12 this morning, sleep for a few hours half way and then arrive at 9.

 

The shell needs welding, arches are gone, holes everywhere but in its bare state would be easy. It's a very early D reg, originally in gold, but nicely re sprayed in metallic bluey grey, it has the ducktail spoiler and cloth interior.

 

 

Not sure I can be arsed carting it back up to be honest, and probably going to stick to the original plan of putting the lot on eBay. It is definitely worth more in parts. Also has a crappy hole cut in the roof for a crappy Britax water roof.

 

Not sure what to do.

There's no way I could be arsed with reassembling that lot you'd get to the end and there'd be 3 bolts or an indicator missing , which are now impossible to get.

 

It might be worth welding up the shell to a good standard as as a verifiably solid one is got to be gold to someone who wants to re shell a fucked one. When I say gold I mean 800 quid.

No, I bought the whole car, everything That was taken off is on pallets. Who cares about the shell.

Do a search for Starion parts on eBay. Ah, there aren't any. Ok then.

 

Paid 350 for the lot. Vented bonnet went on eBay a few months ago for more than 350. This makes financial sense to me.

My username was Starion (oh way back when).

 

I bought these (or said I would buy them) before I sold the red Starion Chris. I didn't want to sell the red one but it wasn't getting used and there's money out of it (to buy another Starion obviously).

 

it was a save really as it was going to get scrapped in a couple of weeks. There's high demand for these, if it'll help someone else out, better than being smelted. Don't fancy doing that drive again though.
