I bloody well would have, whould I have not?

Nah, I would have. Everything else would have been rude.

Much tappability here and get a free castle, car, wages, servants, and a rummage in Buck House on occasion, win win I say

Are you using rummage in its Biblical sense?

Noice!

I've got a 6a in Lincoln green on a T reg and a 5a in some shade of yellow.

I'm scrapping a really really wrecked 6a, so if there's a slim chance you need the only bit that isn't fucked, I may be able to help

So far I need a new expansion bottle and a black centre console if you had them by any chance...

Do you reckon that Princess Anne has a black centre console?

Strictly speaking, wouldn't it be lèse-majesté ?

Question for those who know these engines. Is it the same oil filter as a pinto? Makes it easier finding one if it is

In ever darn sense Rummage means fellow Shiter

Thread drifting like a bastid, I love that in David Lodge World Birmingham is renamed "Rummidge".

So who's going to be the first to buy dome a Waifu pillow with Princess Anne printed on it and then surreptitiously install it in his front passenger seat?

Posted

Yep same filter as a pinto ( motorcraft EFL90).

There are claims that a ''halfords special'' type filter fucks up the oil pressure on these.

Some Scimitar fettling has occured

I wasn't happy with the coolant system so dismantlage has happened. Changed a couple of ropey looking hoses, fitted a new radiator cap and removed the radiator and thermostat to flush it out.

Back together fired it up and after the thermostat opened things did not seem well. A pinprick hole was spotted in the radiator near where one of the outlets. Mrs Domes kitchen blowtorch (just don't ask) was purloined and solder applied. Back together and bled up, followed by some hoonage confirmed things seem to be ship shaped. Will check it in the morning once it's cooled.

It does seem to gave a fair bit of grunt-I wasn't expecting much from an Essex but this one seems pokey. Maybe something fettled lies under those soon to be shiny rocker covers-there is some Gubbins about modded heads in amongst the receipts.

Next-interior clean and some wheel swappage.

A fine night was had at the Scotoshite meet last night with much new chod in attendance. Thanks to Ian (Spiny Norman) for these pics and for making the old heap look presentable via the medium of photoshop... New wheels work rather well methinks...

Slot mags on Scimitars never fails to please.  I just noticed your side graphics too, those are a lovely little touch.

I'll have a look at my donor car tomorrow and see if I've got a bottle

I think I may be OK, as long as it doesn't have to seal? Still getting to grips with the coolant system...

Sadly the stripes are ropey. I was going to remove them but may try redoing them instead.

Slot mags are for gods - and Princess Anne - but mainly for gods - slot mags YAY!

That is a lovely looking Scimitar and those wheeelz, well yum!

The interior looks fabulous and must be one of the cleanest I have seen for a long time.

Slot mags really do look right on a Scimitar.

Could use some centre caps to look finished.

I would like a GTC but they do look a bit gorky with the roof up.

Well, gambled and won. The Scim passed it's MOT today-couple of advisories but nothing major. Yaas!

How did it reward me? By nearly conking out on the way home. Arses. I suspect the fuel pump is playing up.

I tried running a feed from a petrol can straight to it in case it was a blocked line but no difference.

Can anyone identify this pump?

It looks like it might be Bosch but I'm not sure. It ticks away (quite loudly sometimes) but intermittently, I dunno if it should or not. The clear filter seems to be struggling to fill up-previously it's always been quite full. And yes, there's fuel in the tank...

The relay also looks a bit ropey, I may replace it and rewire it, not sure if I'm happy with that wiring setup. Opinions welcome!
