Look at this - FIVE scabrous old sheds in one shot (and the big green one in the background is the least leaky of the lot).

Impromptu old rotter gathering with some friends  (yes, I really do have some.  Well, maybe one.).    Also included in the day was a top spottage which I hope to share here if Dr Mike Oxgreen stops yamming his 800 litre V97 TVR all over the place and emails me the photee.

And, as if by magic....

What are the chances, eh? Spotted whilst out for a whiz in my Moonraker blue and as yet unrotten 2600, this rotten as fook 2300 in Moonraker Blue with dark grey interior.  Clearly a daily snotter, as full of "this is an actual car" stuff eg brollies, coke bottles, maps etc.   Mega crusty, but big up respect to the owner.

You have about 50% of BLs range in one shot.

One photo to tell all that was wrong with Britain in the 70s/80s!

Sorry for no Austin Morris content.

^Or Jaguar . It must be take your Rover out day, as I spotted a gold 2600SE SD1 in Cowbridge earlier

Lokks like an early episode of the professionals or the New Avengers.

I wonder if moonraker was cheaper than the other colours as it seems about 90% of s2's are painted on it?

What, BL do stuff because cheap?  Chuh!

Good photos! I don't know if it is just my own taste, but BL made a lot of good looking cars.

What was the last BL designed car made in this country by one of its successor companies? My XJ40 must be one of the last, finishing in '94 - but I'm sure there will be stuff which soldiered on longer (Montego?). I'm not sure that the X300 counts - same underpinnings, but lots of Ford lables

And what is the last recognisably BL car made as a kit, Ledbury Maestro-style? Probably Chinese, I imagine.

I like this cut-out in the barn.

Suggests there has been a very interesting barn find - something with a chimney or a tailfin perhaps?

So you have identified a gap and thinking about filling it with a Jagwah?

Still leaves Austin/Morris type hole??

Balls, cash and no sense seems a heady combo! Your doc hasn't changed your medication lately has he?

Fricken A right!  Mighty fine pills they are too, I must say.  The Austin Morris prob has to be a Moroner.  Maybe a Koop, prob just a boggo shitsville Moroner saloon with (non) optional shit everything.

I still yearn for another Maureena........when the cools kids had their escorts I had a couple of coops.......mainly because I wasn't cool. Maureena is better car but you gotta hang on in corners....they do go round but it seems like they won't .

Sounds like TEH FEAR.  I like that sort of thing.  Presumably best on the skinniest and cheapest mismatched tyres that Poundland Retreads R Us PLC can supply?

Posted

As you may know the bonnet catch on these can be modified so that pushing the clutch will release the bonnet. All it involves is a simple linkage operated by the longitudinal movement of the front pulley........

A sensible and time saving modification.

Oh yeah.....145 13s I think. A good safety feature as you fall off the road before anything serious happens.

Got to be the 1300 too. Even feckin safer!

Stop whining, just buy the bloody thing.

It is an estate. You don't have an estate, this is practical FFS. Buy it otherwise we will let your tyres down. This may take a while.

I was just going to say the same thing. You need one of every type of car for practicality reasons.

Doctor, Doctor, I am hearing TEH VOICES again.  They want me to do a BAD THING.

Three door estate, actually, fuck my old boots.  That means it's a shooting brake, and shooting brakes are WINHAH.
