Transportation for 2 Dafs please!!!!

Recommended Posts

Is there anyone who could help out in relation to transporting two Dafs from a location in Wakefield to Daf Central near Colchester (well 6 miles away).

Most bestest way would to be able to do both Dafs in one hit.

The Dafs are able to move under their own steam but are not taxed, MOT'd or anything as yet.

Cheers folks

Well I have emailed Panhards chap, so we will see how that works out :)

I have a big enough arse already. :)

Sadly the chap suggested by our erstwhile panhard botherer hasn't responded to my email.

Is anyone able to help/suggest/do?

Has to be two cars in one hit as mentioned.

:D

My ARSE trailer isn't long enough I'm sure for two in one go, and I don't suppose they'd go on sideways.

We could do with a BFO beavertail or something for this job. Has Mr_Scruff given up on his enterprise?

I believe our own John_K has a Mitsu Canter recovery truck, but if it were suitable, he'd probably have piped up by now.

No....... Mr. Scruff has been absent by his conspicuousness.

Any offers gratefully received.

Doubtful about sideways but if desperate enough lol.

When are you after these being moved? may be going back to Germany end of July for another brace.

Sideways would cause an unfortunate Daf/mudguard interface. Unrecommended.

No real timescale but the only caveat is that my mate will have to be present due to current owner skittishness (don't ask why).

I can give you his number to have a talk if that would be okay??

Cheers

I don't, but I can find out! Hang on.......... each Daf is 152 inches (12.66ft) long (well just under) or 3.9m according to Wkipedia.

Mega busy hauling farm kit I'm afraid Kenster or I'd love to help. You just need a geezer with a 3.5 tonner and a trailer, Shiply?

I know you would if you could fella.

Have dumped this on Shipley now and have also sent another email to the chap that Panhard suggested.

Shipley got the distance wrong..... doh. It is actually around 211 miles one way and both cars weigh 1448Kg.

Will update accordingly.

Thanks to all :)

Ok, how about doing this in two hits then if one hit isn't feasible. I'd prefer to keep this in the AS community and let people on here have the dosh.

If all fails : rent a car transporter, get Matt to bring an enormous flask of tea and biscuits, and do the job yourselves !

Think of the toilet stops man. We'd take about a week to get there.

Garrrgghhh! Shipley not being helpful, well the responses so far anyway. I made it clear in the heading that there were two cars for collection and one collection being required.

Had a couple of offers to do the thing in two goes. Normally that wouldn't be an issue but this time it really needs to be one. Getting nowhere speedily.
