The railways been good to me - you could do a lot worse! Dunno what the upper age limit is mind you. Just thought it might benefit one of you lot or a niece or nephew or neighbour.

I did a course on the new age discrimination regs at work and they have had to change the upper age limit for apprenticeship to 57. We can also apply to retire at 60.

When I did it I got full points on everything except 'respect', which figures, because I am a miserable, rude, misanthropic bastard, and if I wasn't I would feel sorry for any unlucky c*nt who ever has the misfortune to work with me.....Don't wanna work on the bloody railway anyway, in my experience network rail is such a bloody pain in the arse to get anything done it drives you insane. I keep fairly quiet that I still have a valid PTS...

24 out of 24 herealthough when I worked for GE Capital you had to attened hundreds of these types of seminars, meetings etc.. so I may have had an unfair advantage as towards the way the answers were going to go

i finished a 5 year engineering apprenticeship in 1984, worked in some right shitholes and worked alongside some real twats, not about to start another apprenticeship at this age - they can stick my application (which they are eager to recieve) right up their coliflower arses.

22/24 - i also scored top marks on everything except respect.They are excited about recieving my application too. Network rail sounds like too much hard work to me though, i'll stick to playing records for a crust i think
