Insurance:

Is there a way you can find out who you're insured with if you've forgotten? I sold a vehicle ages ago, think this the insurance is still running (cba cancelling it, it was cheap and helped towards my NCB) but I can't actually remember who I got insured with and can't find the certificate.

Any ideas how I can find out, please? Cheers.

Presumably you paid for it, and know roughly when you did that. Bank statement time. Be very wary about insuring a car you've sold. Can end in serious tears.

People got in the shit for selling cars and not canceliing the policy - new keeper goes and has a big crash and previous keeper cops for it.

Found it now, luckily it was on an email as couldn't find a 'hard' copy anywhere, but thanks Ian. I hadn't even considered something happening after I'd sold the vehicle, I was just being an idiot and not thinking of the bigger picture, will cancel it now.

Why not swap the policy to some other shite, collect the no claims at the end of the policy

I cancelled my policy with the post office when I sold a car before it had expired, and they said they would charge an admin fee. After getting arsey they said it would be covered by the remaining unused premium. As if they would ever refund anything....

Pretty standard admin charge for any policy change, usually something silly like £40.

A few do it for free; I'm with Footman James, they charge £25 admin.

Elephant have never charged me an admin fee but then again I used to pay enough to cover about a thousand admin fees, plus I've been with them since day one of car ownership so they best do something to thank me for it!
