The Irish are being blessed with new, Chinese LDV vans.

And, according to ARonline, once SAIC start fitting euro 6 compliant VM engines they may start selling them here. To park outside breweries or race down the M1 three abreast.

Also apologies for it being in the wrong section, I just don't know what I'm doing!

Later...by some miracle it's appeared in the right section. Thank you AS elves.

That website looks like I made it, apart from the comic copywriting they've managed to spell VM Motori wrong on the heading of the powertrain page.

Somewhere instead of V80 they call it the V8 o, which got me excited for a second ,thinking the sound of V8 LDV ambulances might once more return to our streets. Although relying on one of these to save your life may be a bit foolhardy.

People are going to crash taking their eyes off the road to see how fast they are going.

Maybe they don't have speed limits in Ireland?

...we dont even have 3 lane motorways here in Ireland, so there is something seriously amiss with their marketing campaign...

...we also have plenty of speed limits, which change monthly weekly - enforced via a mobile  feet of 'manned' camera vans, this was subcontracted to a UK operator- which lurch on the hard shoulder outside towns/villages - every speedlimit is 'generously accomodated' for extra revenue to all - 50kmph ,60kmh, 80kmh...  - if your over here availing of the present strong sterling vs Euro rate - remember to smile - its only us residents, what have to fork out - they might send you a nice holiday snap (but you don't have to pay...)

In some far flung part of the world, they were trying to flog these by claiming that the British Royal Family have a fleet of them. I guess they meant Royal Mail.

"VM Motori is based in Cento Italy and brings Italian flair and innovation to the V80 project"

So it will break down a lot, right?

Wasnt this the van they said "respected in Europe"? ´Cause nobody in mainland Europe knows this thing!

Looks like some sort of two lane plus filter lane.

It's really bugging me they couldn't be arsed to line them up properly for the promo shot!

The binnacle was on the middle on the original Maxus too. I used one to move house. Went like the bleedin' clappers and had metal panels you could dent with your finger. Really quite pleasant to drive, hideous interior plastics aside - and that only brought it in line with previous LDVs.

Wonder if the centre binnacle is an effort to reduce the cost of LHD-RHD conversion?

I really hope there's an SD1-style random vent in the middle of the passenger side dash that the wheel can poke through.

The Convoy had an SD1 style arrangement for the dash, if I remember rightly.
