DSdriver Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Have you got the stainless trim strips that go on the top front of the rear wings? The rest I've got but those got inexplicably lost in the last resto. If six cylinder is having the whole shebang I can wait till it gets nearer as you are further away from me than most of France. I could also be in the market for the offside fresh-air blower if it still works.
Uncle Jimmy Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Saab 99 carbs and gauges please. Whereabouts are you?
forddeliveryboy Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 I seem to remember there are some AlfaSud/Sprint 13" alloys somewhere. Needing restoration, but straight and true. Anyone interested? Possibly some twin Dellortos, too. Wheels like these:
forddeliveryboy Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 Are there any botanists out there? This venerable paintwork is seriously nutritious to the lichen. It is possible to date old French cars by the size of the mosses and lichens, apparently. Uncle Jimmy 1
Six-cylinder Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 The hand car wash people will soon have these DSs looking smart again!
Uncle Jimmy Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 David Bellamy should make a tv series about that DS. forddeliveryboy 1
DSdriver Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 List update: as well as the blower (if it works) and the stainless trims which seem to absent on your car as well, put me down for the wheel trims and the stainless rear reflector bits (offside one is the one I am after). Oh, and the wiring loom off the safari from the rear doors back. It doesn't matter if it is shagged I just need it as reference for making a new one as my car's wiring is a mess. Box it all up and work out the freight rate, let me know your pecuniary requirement and I will upgrade your bank balance.

forddeliveryboy Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 I'm interested! Will have a good look around early next week.
KruJoe Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Those Alfa wheels would look great on a Riva or Samara. 4x98 I presume. Are you coming to Shitefest FDB? Otherwise ARSE delivery service possibly available. But not on the DS Safari, it ain't for sale folks!
DodgyBastard Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I was thinking they'd look good on either my panda, riva or sprint!
forddeliveryboy Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 I'm pulling the engine, box and injection related stuff out for Six-cylinder, so the rest of the car is available, either as a job lot or as bits. Great to have these long, sunny* evenings.
chaseracer Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Will the Xant box fit a 1.7 XUD? If so, talk to FPB7! Is the W124 wing still available?
barrett Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Are either of the front seats in the DS in decent nick? I would quite like one just as a chair to sit in as they are DELICIOUSLY comfy and one of my favourite DS trim colours. Worthwhile endeavour, or am I being blinded by my own hoarding instincts?
Inspector Morose Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Will the Xant box fit a 1.7 XUD? If so, talk to FPB7! Is the W124 wing still available? No not without time and effort, both of witch I'm sadly lacking at the moment.... explosive-cabbage 1
explosive-cabbage Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 No not without time and effort, both of witch I'm sadly lacking at the moment....I have the market cornered in XUD boxes anyway- I have bagsied it!
Inspector Morose Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I have the market cornered in XUD boxes anyway- I have bagsied it!Order of one higher geared box to fit BX from honest Wills used XUD comparable gearbox emporium duly placed. chaseracer 1
Inspector Morose Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 You'll need long arms. Aiming to bring the aunt! ( ha! Some chance.) chaseracer 1
KruJoe Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Your aunt is a dexterous gibbon and I claim my five pounds. chaseracer, explosive-cabbage and Inspector Morose 3
explosive-cabbage Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 I pulled them alloys out of a shed whilst I was up there, and trust me they look much better in the flesh! Especially with the Alfa hub caps still in!
