Autoshite road trip to France?

Does anyone fancy doing this in the near future?

Set off on a Friday evening, ferry at 12.55 (£56 return), head somewhere mad, do something French for the day/night, go to hotel (£30 -£50 for the night) head back on Sunday at around 1pm.

I just did this this weekend and have done it more than enough times, French countryside is beautiful in the summer for those who have never been. I think it would be a good laugh, it's logistically easy and doable over the space of a couple of days.

Sounds good, even better if I can find some old mopeds for sale there, and bring back in the van

France?

I'm glad every time the Hauted Rover© makes it to Bramhall without playing up.

YES.

I love France, and French cars/motoring/wine in particular. Some of the guys from teh BX forum are doing a road trip in June, and it looks very unlikely I'll be able to go so something on a smaller scale looks ideal. Formula 1 'hotels' would be a great budget way to sleep...for me there's no point in spending loads on a hotel room when 90% of the time you're in it you have your eyes closed.

Late July/August would be best for me if we're going as far as suggesting dates, as I'll be over there anyway later June/early July.

That would be great, only danger is, I might end up staying there and not returning to England.

If this happens, then it is law that more cars come back than go out......

I'll be in Wimereux 13-23 July anyway, in case someone wants to pop by there then and needs technical/morale/intoxication support.

As long as toll roads are avoided :-D  they may be a quick and efficient way to get from A to B but bloody boring as no old cars to be seen.

If all goes to plan next weekend will be the third trip over for another old crock, its far easier than I expected.

I have come back from Holland today, another great trip with the Visa, 1088 miles this weekend.

I would love another weekend in France if I can fit it in.

I would LOVE to do this as long as we can include a few scrapyard visits on the trip, its my only way to get any rare Safrane parts now!!

Plus i would need a lift as i don,t actually have a car i could use....

I'm all up for this, possibly in June. It's incredibly easy to do and I reckon a scrapyard visit would be ace.

If you want to put your name down for a possibly maybe anyone?

I may be up for this!

Would be fun to get a lift over and buy some old tat and drive it back...

Should we hire a minibus and everyone buy something out there?

Could be fun. I will need a new passport first - when are we thinking of going?
