It's crying out for a roller paint job and pickup conversion though...

Or massive amounts of chicken wire, wob and Matt black to turn it into a scary 1950s looking lowrider

I got the keys for this beast tonight.

I need to pick it up quite soon so would like to get shot of the BX sharpish as I'm running out of space. If anyone on the forum would like the BX free of charge then get in touch.

I do like that ovlov, unlike the later V70XCs those are still nice to drive. The later phase 2 bloated ones had comedy tyres & drove like they had four flats.

I've been offered one of these for relatively cheap with a year's mot will it be sensible, reliable transport?

Well, as proved elsewhere on here, Honda engines are great* for reliability. Unless someone's retro-fitted a K series for British sensibility. I owned one of these in 1.6 flavour iirc, and it was a great little thing. The only downside is that the driving experience sent me to sleep.

Depends on the engine. The 1.6 vtec we had was thrashy and shit on fuel. The 1.8s full vtec is nuts .

Bx sold. That was an expensive way of getting a pair of bx front seats...

Got the Alto back tonight with a new head gasket, timing belt and water pump. Need to get it in for an mot soon.

^^^you have to push the bonnet emblem to release the bonnet, don't you?

Remembering my friends metallic orange one in the mid 90s, such a great car

Bx seats do actually fit into a c15...

Having driven one of those Civics (and basically owning a rebadged Concerto), I'd say only get it if it's auto. The manuals are beyond boring. Reliable, yes (if used and maintained regularly), but soul crushingly dull, and not particularly spectacular at any one thing. Ride and comfort aren't great either. The auto box is the only real saving grace.

Values are all over the place, any over 100k is basically worthless, but we sold a pretty tidy Y plate 1.4 on 55k for £800. A tatty N player on 110k probably isn't even worth considering.

Check the rear sill ends and arches for rust, and if it's not tracking straight it can often be the rear radius arm bushes which are fun* to do.

It's a 1.4 manual V reg on 140k mot until December for £200. Mot history looks reasonable, it had a couple of patches welded for the last one.

I can't do it... I have managed to back out of buying the Civic tonight, it's just far too bland, boring and sensible. I would rather spend the money on putting the Alto through an mot and getting the 305 srd on the road.

What's happening with the 305 TD?

Nothing at the moment. I have considered selling it on a couple of occasions because every time I make some progress on it something else needs sorted that wasn't broken before. I really would like to get it on the road this year along with my gold 305 but I have no motivation to do anything with any of the 305's lately. Maybe when the lighter nights and warmer weather arrive I'll feel like doing more with them.

Another quality eBay purchase, 2.0 auto on lpg with a week's Mot on it. Should be collecting it from the borders on Saturday morning.

Hopefully the v70 xc will be away by the weekend.

The 940 and Stanza could also be heading south if all goes to plan.

That looks nice,

Where abouts is it as never saw it while scouring eBay.

I'm guessing someone doesn't like the van, eggs thrown at the windscreen today, tyre let down on Tuesday which almost caused the Mrs to have a serious accident.

I think I've found the perfect place to leave the proton....

Where did that happen? At your house?

Broad street Cowdenbeath along from the bus depot. Across the road from where that, k10 silver micra usually sits.

Nice 190! Those Pentas look good on it.

I did see that one parked up in St Boswell's the other week with a for sale sign on it. Would have been tempted but I've already got a semi derelict one to be starting on soon.

Penta porn. Looks tidy. Hope the Stanza stays in the community - seems a genuine little thing.

Met the ebay seller at Tweedbank who took us to the car in St Boswells, handed over cash jumped in the car and headed for home.

Mot runs out on Tuesday, it will need tyres, rear shocks, discs and pads and probably a bunch of other stuff. It goes and stops ok but the handling is a bit wobbly.
