RetroShite Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Picked this one up at John Pye auctions! Never again! yes oui si, privatewire, Tenmil Socket and 5 others 8
RetroShite Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Next one to go, the 3.0 V6 Cortina at great value of £7 a go! The plates fitted to the car when I picked it up were incorrect with a Y printed instead of a V, so I chucked on some "show plates" until the correct ones arrive. Obviously everyone is asking "does it come with the plates?" Previous owner had been running around on plates that weren't registered to anything and had managed to insure it by manually adding it to the database. Zie, wesacosa, Coprolalia and 10 others 13

RetroShite Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Found some steel wheels for the escort. It's still too low but it'll be off to a new home in a few weeks. I imagine the majority of people entering for it will be wanting the minilite alloys back on it and leave the ride height as it is. grogee, sdkrc and Coprolalia 3

I've got a load of stuff from there over the years mostly for the house. My own fault really for not reading the listing correctly. None of the cars have keys and they move them around via forklift. sdkrc and tooSavvy 2

I wonder where they get them from, they seem to be a real mix from the really new, to covered in green algae from sitting in a hedge for three years. They do a lot of proceeds of crime sales so I wonder if they are vehicles seized by the Police/DVLA.

I bought “a quantity” of ironing boards for £3 once at John Pye.I’d assumed they meant maybe 3 or 4. When I turned up to collect them, 13! 6 were knackered and went straight in their skip and I sold the ones I didn’t need on eBay.

A guy I used to work with who DJ’d on the side, bought a ‘box’ of Halloween decorations for his setup. He went to pick them up in his van which was rather lucky when the box turned out to be an entire pallet.
