R8 does look tidy I’ll keep an eye out for it if you do the swap. Not as cool as the three door but smart none the less

I haven't heard anything else about it, I think my honest description of how shit the bmw is might have put him off.

I can't take credit for the majority of the work, my friend is doing a lot of it for free.

Great work, the Cavalier looks mint compared to the Chevette!

That's not entirely true...I very much want to, however I have nowhere to put it!

Great update on the Chevette, nice to see it coming together. Your workshop is an impressive building.

Chevette wings were rare and expensive 15 years ago, well done on finding a pair!!! How did you unearth those?

I got the from this car, each Chevette wing has a date stamp on it and the date stamps on the white wings didn't match the year of the car. The guy traded the white wings with the wings from the gold car which had the correct trim fitted to go with his car and also the correct date.

I sold him a bunch of other bits including all of the doors, the rear axle, the rear quarters and arches, the bottom of the B-pillars and the front strut turrets and delivered them all to him for £160.

What a beast!

Awesome - no sign of the law asking why you are going to Aberdeen for essential shopping? :-)

Buying a car is essential for travelling to work in if you can't work from home, I just received a letter this morning informing me that I might need to return to work for essential Ministry of Defence contracts.

Anyway it was only up to Dundee and we kept to the social distancing regulations.

That 216 GTI is also arriving today if you're interested?

Good news about that parts deal with red Chevette chap, those new wings even have a pinstripe to match.

My geography is clearly pants I thought it was further north for some reason :-)

Oh God - Rover temptation!!  Interested to know how good it is when it arrives and what you’d be looking for

Given the rover interest in facecloth don’t expect it will be around long!  Is it as good as it looks and how much are you asking?

Nice, pretty sure I remember that Niva from years gone by, the reg seems familiar.

Still miss my one.

I really don't know, I was going to ask on here what anyone thought it was worth.

It'll need tyres, the brakes are a bit crap but it does have a pair of new discs and pads with it and various service bits. I've not had it up on the ramp yet but it looks fairly solid in most places.

The key only seems to work the ignition meaning it's being left unlocked. There's a slight clutch release bearing noise but the clutch itself seems to work fine. I drove it around a little and left it running for a while and it didn't show any signs of overheating. The drivers mirror glass is missing, the boot open light is faintly illuminated on the dash but it does shut ok.

It's quite dusty/dirty inside and out but should clean up ok.

mileage is 97k, there's some service history and the v5 is present.

I suspect some of the interest on facetube will be from banger racers.

What's it worth?

Yes, he said you used to live in the same area as he does.

A non rusty rover, and it's in Scotland?

Looks complete and tidy that, don't know what values are like on these but would be a shame if it was bangered.

That'd make an ideal body donor for resurrecting the glorious  220 SLI :)  ( Joke)

I wonder if it has had a smack in the boot lid. The plastic number plate panel on the boot looks like a later one.

Looks ace. I have no idea what it’s worth But suspect my tinkering in lockdown budget is probably less than a) it’s worth and b) you can get for it.   And not sure how I could get it across Dunfermline in current climate.  Itching to give it a bloody good wash though!!
