Peugeot 305 - OFF TAE SCOTLAN.

Why should BS feel obliged to raffle this on for scrap value? The 305 is worth exactly the same as it was two weeks ago.

Because people are tight bastards.

to be fair to the raffle winner, shitpeas has basically still got the car and like £300 in his hand so its not the end of the world.

I don't recall saying I was hard done by!  Just that I wanted it to go to someone that wanted it.

FOAD made an offer that we were both happy with and it is sold.

The car did NOT want to be sold mind.  As soon as FOAD left to collect it, the rear brakes started dragging.

Not enough to daunt him though, sure it'll be on the ramp at FOAD WERX 2.0 and sorted quick enough.

Good to see FOAD and Mrs Foad again, and glad the cars going to someone that wants it.

The Vulva 340 and 305 estate are the only two cars I've owned that I detested to the extent that rather than scrap them I donated them to the fire brigade so they could die a horrible death.

Bugger.........This is what happens if you don't check The Beige every day................

I'd have stuck me hand up if I'd have seen it sooner.

Glad FOAD has got it though, Less distance for me to go if/when he gets fed up......... :-P

I think that one will be a 1905, I don't know if it matters though. Its pump might well be buggered after sitting for so long.

Posted

I don't think the engine matters, the pump is the same, maybe tuned a little differently. The seals will be dried out and fucked I bet, but there are rebuild guides online.

To be honest a bosch pump isn't something I'm particularly bothered about. If I can get it for cheap I may have a look but I'm happy to just run the car on diesel for now.

Here's a bit of an update on the 305... Since buying it 6 months ago I've travelled 4000 trouble free miles in it and other than replacing a seal on the fuel pump arm and painting the rear arches the correct colour I haven't done anything else...

It still creaks at the rear end but I have recently ordered a few parts to remedy this and also a pair of front shocks and top mounts.

The car's been brilliant, so brilliant that I'm going to buy a 305 saloon to keep it company...

I'm glad I ended up with the 305 and hope to improve it over time...
