Whilst driving throuh Edzell today, i commented to mrs KS that i nearly always spot some super shite in this wee village. She then exclaimed she saw something up a side street, i turned around and couldnt possibly have prepared myself for what i saw.. Have a look at this...

Edzell's nice, great campsite. The wee Datsun has the coolest hubcaps ever.

... I posted on here about a work colleague who had one, from new, and sold it to a lad off the shopfloor - he ran 3 other guys home for petrol money >> the rear hub snapped off!!

Ahh... HERE!

This has been sitting at my local country action for the last few weeks. Apparently it has been sold already, which is upsetting.

That spot, for me, will never be beaten. Just how I remember spotting them, back in the early 80s as a kid.

Great car, it's a shame you don't see cars looking like that much anymore. That needs to be left the way it is, never restored or messed with!

Bloody Nora haven't seen one of them fer .....etc. Absolutely top spot and cracking condition. One of these started the rot in our street when my mates dad part-ex'd his Billy Blundered for one. Within a year there were shiny red Violets and orange Sunnies all over the place.

Edit...Is that plate familiar to anybody else - road test car or something?

The petrol station in the background is a bit special too. Attended service and you pay in an office that overlooks the pit and smells like a garage should.

There must be something wrong with me, I disliked these when ne & time hasn't changed my mind!

when i was wee, a friends father chopped a datsun like the gold one in against a brand new, non-injected XR3.

by way of contrast me dad was at that time running about in a ripe morris marina!!

They are truly amazing. What epic looking cars those cheap old Datsun's were. The back end on the 120Y looks bonkers.

Hated em as a youngster but these old Dattys just look the bollocks now

I dont know why but old jap chod is an addiction of mine, dont know why, must be a great great descendant of a ninja or summat. I love the 120A rear end so ugly its cool. Im not old enough to remember them as ive heard a few people hated them/

A girly friend of mine had one of those ^ in the mid 80's. She chopped it in for a Micra.

My first car was a 100a it was a great car in it's day but they rotted like hell. Mine had a renault 5 front spoiler and the rear spoiler off an alfasud. I thought it looked so cool back in 1985. Sadly a lack of driving talent and a cavalier sri put an end to it. I then bought a 5 door one from an mot tester, like a fool I filled it with petrol which it then leaked all down the road due to the rotten fuel tank and lines. After that I took out a loan and bought a Renault 18 and haven't been near a Jap car since.

I bought a white120a from an old boy in Stockport back in the late 90's that was a one owner and genuine19000 mile car.

Back then there was a Nissan dealer in Folkstone that was selling off old stock and i scooped up bumpers, lamps and a front subframe which loved to rot out.i also got a set of new 13'' minilites for it too.

I kept it  for around 8 years then foolishly sold it on.it was my best car ever, all black inside and fun to drive with a great gearbox whine.

Back in 1975 when it was new it must have been like aliens had landed seeing these on the streets

Ive just looked and JRN947N is on sorn but untaxed since 2007.
