Claimed again. Free, complete oxy acetylene kit.

Having a bit of a clear out, I have a complete oxy acetylene kit on a trolley that I am sick of tripping over and its getting in the way now.

Its pretty old but is complete, comes with a proper wheeled trolley, oxygen and acetylene bottles, regulators, leads, gas welding torch, various spare copper tips, blow/cutting torch, mini tool tray/box, and a couple of other bits aswell.

Most of the kit is old BOC uk made stuff so is of decent quality.

the gas bottles are both empty as its been standing unused for a good few years and the gas leads are a bit old and perished so would probably need replacing. New lead sets are available pretty cheaply on ebay etc. It has been kept in a dry building though so its not all rusted and corroded.

I was intending to use it myself but since I have a mig welding set and im happy with that I don't really need this anymore. I don't like throwing stuff away so maybe this will be useful to a fellow shiter instead.

It was my uncles and he used it regularly for all sorts, mostly welding up old Marina's, Metro's etc etc we had in the family at the time! aswell as a bit of more industrial type welding.

Like I said this is offered totally free of charge, although I'd rather it went to a good home to someone who will use it than someone wanting to scrap it! Its a good little home use set up or good if you want to learn to gas weld - on a budget!

I can get more pics if wanted.

Anyone interested will have to either pick it up in person or send your own courier for it. Location is about 10 miles north of Portsmouth, Hampshire, just off the A3.

Just let me know either on this thread or PM if you want it. I can hold onto it for a while but I do need it gone at the earliest convenience.

Don't you have to pay rental on the cylinders? My rental at work is about £160 a month for the various cylinders from boc and air products.

Bren, your next in line then if it falls through.

I thought the bottles were on rental, but these have been out of circulation for many years so I don't know? As far as I'm concerned they are fitted so go with it, exchange them for full or just refill them.

You can't weld properly unless you've learnt on oxy-acet, or so all the decent welders I've known have said. I haven't paid anyone any rent for mine since I acquired them in the 90s - that would make it totally unaffordable.

Gas welding is so therapeutic.

But a set of bottles can do so much more. They can cut, heat, bend, free off, all sorts of things and when all else fails, you can set fire to things to claim on the insurance.
