..... drive a 35 year old Italian car the length of the country overnight, ride an Italian bike all the way back non stop, and still make it to work on Tuesday morning. 1100miles?

I see no potential issues with this whatsoever.

Any good with electronics?  Specifically, electronics on middle-aged American cars that I daren't drive more than a couple of miles?

I had a speak and spell when I was a kid, is this enough experience for ya?

I've ridden the Ducati from cornwall to Aberdeen before with no issues apart from needing an ass replacement at the end of it

Checked my finances after the Merc debacle and as much as I want this I can't afford it. Sad face

Big Bad Baz, how far are you from Glasgae & Edinburg airfields respectively?

Posted

This is getting weird, yesterday I read the 309 collection thread and then saw one on the way home from work. I also saw an X/19. Strange in my mind.

Posted

An X19 is a massive want, im not convinced i would fit however, How likely is it a 6'4" gent would fit into a tiny Italian 2 seater?

Posted

Probably tight to be honest. I fit ok, and am 5.11 on a good day, my day is fine and was taller but is shorter than me now but my brother in law at 6ft 2 has his knees under his chin. The seat would actually go further back but the seat belt reel is what stops it - but then you end up with a hunched back position because the seat is tilted too upright.

I'm 6"2 and fit fine- 300 miles in a sitting no problem. I must be Italian shaped though. About 25 miles from Edinburgh...

Oh bugger this looks great and is in fife - cock - seen this around and it looks smashing!

My brother in law is the longer leg, shorter arms person with large feet. He didn't see himself driving one on the road. I however fit perfectly and love it.

Are you sure? I've never been to Dunfermline in it! You are the 2nd person to say this...

Years ago I didn't much care for these - I don't know why, since they are very good looking things, like a little supercar - I just thought they were a bit crap.

Then I went in one. It was a hoot and I have liked them ever since!

My first wife had one of these (BUD---V) in a lovely metallic red with cream interior. She had it at the time when Kyle was a baby and he loved that little car. He had his baby seat mounted and sat there happily kicking shit out of the dashboard (I see a theme developing here :)  ). I drove it a few times and thought it was great. It didn't last long in the household as she only wanted it for summer posing and the baby sat in the passenger seat really didn't suit the image!

It was however, bloody mint! Not a mark on it inside or out and the underside was like new. Baring in mind this must have been summer of 88 it was knocking on for a FIAT!
