I'm surprised that you've managed to find three W116 Mercedes, particularly as one of them is still at 'work'! They seem to be getting pretty rare.

Well I managed three Saab 99's today!

What? An 84 Pony? Wow!That red Saab is weird... registered as a 1942 Saab 99, no MOT needed (pre-1960). What the uck??

Posted

That J plate SAAB is a 1709cc. I think that means it'll have a freewheel, which is supposed to be quite scary on a car as heavy as the 99.

Posted

Definitely a pre-facelift one then? I'm not sure which I prefer, they both look odd.

Posted

Marvellous. I think that FSO would have come from Worcestershire originally. Interesting arcticle - seems quite balanced too, especially as they assume that Botnar was never actually guilty of anything.

Earlyish Uno 45 with the 903cc donk, tax & MOT, £200 anyone?

An ex-R.O.C. car, used to turn up at events and was advertised in the mag at one point. When I enquired several years ago it was missing, presumed dead. Nice to see it's still alive and kicking - maybe now's your chance to track it down and put in an offer Mr Lobster :wink:

Looking at my own car and the others that have appeared on the site just recently makes me realise that although the original R11 started to look dated in the late eighties, it now looks much more attractive and individual than the bland shite phase two that followed it.

good spotting, as far as i know the toledo never got offered with overdrive so its probably got the badge and o/d off a posher triumph. Something i'd like to fit to mine cos 65 mph its rather loud

If it was't for the fact that I'm in Lancashire and it's in London (presumably?) then I would. However, if anyone wants to stick a note on it for me....
Posted

I'm happy to note it up, it did share a driveway with a modern Renault Kangoo(?) so I'd presume them to be enthusiasts

Posted

pm me your phone number or email addy and I'll bung it on there!

Done! Heres hoping they feel like selling.....

X-reg 305, Polonez and RWD Pony. If I managed a haul like that in one day I'd feel WELL pleased with myself, well done Mr T :D

Have some more, went to Involve to get my current 240 sorted and they'd just got this in:

Then I popped to the good old fashioned scrappie around the corner to find these:

I had to go fetch the Missus from Gatwick this week and on the Purley Way I struggled to keep up with this:

Posted Image

and because I was early I popped into Bridges scrappy in Pease Pottage which was a bit empty but I was obviously upset to see a few cars that I would have saved and most I wouldn't:

A really solid and rare 2 door Scrote Estate, obviously stood under a tree for a while but otherwise good

Posted Image

A really clean 205GRD with an amazing piece of retro audio equipment, a Hitachi SW adapter, must be worth a bit to those in the know

Again, sat under a tree, only damage seems to be yard damage

I've no love for Morris Thous, but I'm surprised that they are being scrapped rather than being sold for bits

That Audi is amazing, who was I talking to about these? Whoever it was, they were certain that these cars were extinct in the UK.
