Beige.

limestone is as near beige as you need!

I know its been done to death but a nice dark green or NATO green just looks right.   Failing that Toyota do Land Cruisers in a nice sandy beige colour.

Edit - 'Sandy Taupe' apparently.

These are awesome.

I am curious about which Swatch Watch was found. That bit definitely needed pictures.

I'll photo the swatch tomorrow - haven't tried it to see if it works.

Nono! Do make it like a G-wagen. Not a classic one, a proper rapper's AMG G-wagen, with quad side pipes, bright red leather, iPad on the dash, LED DRLs and massive wheels.

Bonus points for a twin-turbo V8 M157 engine and 7-speed autobox.

there is no danger of any UMM looking anything other than UMM-like! It'll be getting graphics back on!

And an

uma vida, viva-a

sticker

I think red oxide is a good colour, but that would be copying me, so that's out :P

No suggestion from me, apart from I wouldn't, it looks fine as it is, blue + whatever primer, it's a utility vehicle.

There was a thread on here about diy painting and some people had decent results. I remember Peter's (Conelrad?) little red sportscar he painted himself looked pretty good at Chumley a couple of years ago.

I'll see how it looks after the welding has been done. Then make a judgement call - as it's steel I want a decent coat of paint.

the 'uma vida, viva-a' sticker is getting made for it though!

;-)

Chris, your one looks utterly fantastic in matt red! And Mrs MO wants the bull bar - she called it a 'pair of glasses' for the UMM.

I am going to get a roofrack for it though. I know where there's one! As an aside, Jim from Worcester joined our little band so message him about the springs. I am heading back one day soon to buy the other parts I'd like/need.

Starter is back - cost me £50 and a couple of old voltage regulator boxes so he could rebuild them and do an exchange service on them.

Seriously, what about a military drab colour, blue for Navy so you don't need to do the door shuts and under bonnet.

Posted

I looked at the Royal Navy blue option!

Underbonnet is just those front inner wings, under the radiator and the crossmember - the grill takes up the rest of the front.

I can't believe how simple it all is - which is just as well ...

I think a sort of mid blue would suit it, like this..........

You have carpet as well, so you don't need to paint the inside either.

FC - that colour looks familiar!

The inside is the same colour - it's crying out to be lighter - but I do have windows and rubbers for there, if I'm brave enough to cut out the inserts.

Yellow. There should be more yellow cars. Plus, it won't get lost.

Daytona yellow. It will look like a Hummer that shrunk in the wash

When you say graphics, you do mean summut like this, MO? Otherwise most will think it's a LR or Gelande-w. Would stop* all the quesitons like "what is it mate - oh yea, where did they make those then?"

Just remember to paint the roof orange so they see you from the helicopter when searching the snowdrifts.

What's wrong with the originals? Just buy a smaller paint brush for these fiddly bits. Obviously.

Which engine does this have, a 2.5 Indenor? Should make a good towcar with that longish wheelbase and rear axle right well to the back.

it's an Indenor turbo - and it's rated for 1.1 tons payload and can tow 3.5 tonnes legally

What else would you expect for £200?! Great vehicle, looking forward to hearing more UMM-adage.
