Whilst fishing my wallet from underneath the drivers seat of my clio for about the ten millionth time today I cast my mind back to when the car first came into my possesion and that I found a stash of 1980s Jazz mags secreted under the boot carpet, I thought of this discovery of analogue grumble as odd due the fact that the car is a 2001 model.

So anyway what is the best thing you fine people have found in your cars left behind by a previous owners I'm sure a slack handful of gentlemens special interest reading material sets the bar pretty low.

Bloody hell lots of odd shite

Cum stained womens panties from a cortina, a chequebook - and card- expired which buggered me off as evil crossed me from a Bmw , a heap of CD's in a glovebox from my old Manta - A dildo wedged under the back seat of Toyota Surf, which still had battery life, bought from a co worker - who was married, I never mentioned it!

Hard to choose between the £30 found in the dashboard of a Citroën ZX or the sizeable Maglite found under the passenger seat of my Mercedes 190D.

Big pimping eh...

My favourite was in my ebay-bought C15 which I paid about £100 for. As I lurched it up the M6 with no clutch, I had a rummage under the seat and turned up a leather carry pouch containing a then top of the range Snooper radar detector/jammer thing, Which I ebayed on for about £90, effectively making the van nearly free.

Nothing interesting but i did find Doris's shopping list under the boot carpet in the Rialto. It leaked when i got it and the list was almost fossilised.

Meh, nothing exciting, just tools and coins mainly, plus a credit card (which I turned in at the appropriate bank, I was about 12 at the time). The toyoyo came with a fire extinguisher, which the previous child owner could've kept because it's not a legal requirement. Also numerous fixings courtesy the production line.

A socket set in a Mk1 Fiesta (under the boot floor)

£20 behind the plastic steering wheel boss cover on a Ren 11

On a Mini 850 - An official MOD spec fire extinguisher, MOD first aid kit, MOD tiny sciccor jack (which I still have) & Mil-spec goggles (ditto). Plus the battery was labelled with various NATO serial numbers. I'm guessing here but think a previous owner may have worked in the defence industry???

Two hi-viz jackets, a motorway jacket and F/A kit, plus a box of DVCAM tapes, a phone charger and a camera bag in a Galaxy (belonged to the company I worked for).

Plus various change, pens, etc. I did find a packet of condoms once - luckily unused!

Princess - empty Tina Turner cassette case

6TL - small selection of British pre-decimal currency and a French pre-Euro coin

Usually the only thing previous owners leave behind for me are dirt, rusty holes and car park receipts from 1987.

The best thing I found was probably the original factory build sheet tucked behind a spring under the driver's seat on my E34 (sad I know...). Also, every Mini I ever owned came with a free peg on the choke cable...

Just a lot of kid's toys left in her car that revolved around violence. It was the gun, plastic dagger and broken pair of handcuffs. Probably tells us a lot about the parents of said child.

A very nicely rolled joint under the rear seat of a P6 Rover many years ago. More recently I found an unused warning flare in the boot of the Rolls. The label is in Japanese so no idea how you use it but the little pictures on the side are the only clue.

There again going by the pictures maybe it is an unusual type of emergency dildo.
