Well, back in 1997 I went out with a young Welsh bird. She was 19 and she drove a V plate XJS Automatic, 5,3 pre HE with the GM400 box. Insurance? Who knows? It was a very tidy one and I shagged her in it overlooking Kinmel bay. It belonged to er ex, and for whatever reason he didn't want it back. Probably because it was a V plate XJS I imagine. She was about 5ft 3" and looked most odd at the controls.A girl I know know is 20 and has a Herald, and she knows what 13/60 means as well. :D

I happen to know a fantastic young lady in Leeds, with a MINT 80s Corolla, an early 80s campervan of dubious engine and a wardrobe to match. She has been under strict orders to sign up here for quite a while. No luck as yet.

Mr Volks? We need to step up the pressure....

Here is a picture of said Toyota with my Scirocco. Still on its Irish plates (it is probably still on them even though this was months ago)

We swapped cars and drove to her house the day this picture was taken. the car is really nice. Quite nippy, good steering, a really nice car. Was owned by a mechanic in Ireland (a mutual friends grandad) till he died or was karted off to a home or something. Reasonably low mileage for a car that age but in fab nic. Wunderbar!

Is indeed a fun drive - everything's like new!

Very very jealous....

That photograph also contains one of the worst vehicles I have driven.

Shonky-ass LDV of doom.

Great responses! :D Early 911? That girl must have balls, if you'll pardon the expression. Very cool 8) I passed the young girl driving the blue Viva again this morning - only this time I was in the GSA!Mark.

My missus has piloted a few old 'uns since she's been with me. A '71 Wolseley 1300, '72 Datsun 1200 coupe, '81 Datsun Cherry, '74 Datsun 100A (which ended up on it's roof in a ditch!), '76 Mazda 1300, '79 Daihatsu Charade and slightly more modern, an '85 VW Golf Match, several Mazda 323's ('81-'88) and her current '83 Pug 205 and '83 Cherry. She's actually happier driving older stuff than later because they're more interesting but she does a lot of miles for work on some pretty treacherous roads so I'm shortly going to sort her something dull and modern that's a bit safer in a smack.

Another friend, Julie has had a few too, most notably a '76 Datsun 160B and Toyota Starlet. She's pretty heavily car orientated and best of all, knows how to handle them... better than a lot of fellas I'd imagine. You won't get many lasses doing things like this!

Those Corollas must have been the most popular car in Ireland in the mid to late 80s. That one's an imported GL model - must have been a UK car originally as all the jap imports were white. :D Original Irish ones didn't came with the passenger side door mirror either...
