Six-cylinder Posted February 19 Author Posted February 19 Anybody have any experience of this type of cheap tachometer that simply has a wire wraps round an HT lead? I would like to know what the engine revs are on the Rolls Royce and this was cheap and looks simple to fit. I may just use it to understand how hard I am revving it and then take it off again because it will look so out of place. LightBulbFun 1
High Jetter Posted February 19 Posted February 19 No, but they were a thing BITD. When I retire I want to move near you.

Six-cylinder Posted Monday at 19:12 Author Posted Monday at 19:12 A small win today! A local village Facebook group offered a pair of free Osram H4 Night Breakers bulbs and I was there. Turns out they had been bought in error for a Volvo V70 and were no longer wanted. I had seen this V70 around the area for years but he had no time to talk cars with me. Six-cylinder Posted Thursday at 21:11 Author Posted Thursday at 21:11 Another win this evening! My Carlton Estate has been out of service because I could not open the drivers door from the outside or inside. This evening @ianbmw came over and teased off the top of the door panel and managed to open the door. Instead of broken bits I was expecting he found the mechanism was seized. A good dose of WD40 and working the lock and door pull and it was free again. All greased and back together now. danthecapriman, RichardK, Wibble and 11 others 11 3

As you say it's been around here for years and the mileage is impressive - 360,000 at the last MOT! Looks like the business advertised on it closed down a decade ago but the wrap has never been removed. ProgRocker and Six-cylinder 2
Six-cylinder Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Dry and Sunshine today, but very cold. The Mazda 323 has a good heater to clear the frost and got to go to a local breakfast car meeting. LightBulbFun, Dyslexic Viking, adw1977 and 1 other 4
Six-cylinder Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Anybody going to The Stony Stratford Classic car meet tomorrow (Sunday) where hundreds of old cars take over the town? Normally a new Years Day event, this year it has been postponed due to wind and rain on the first day of 2025. If you go, come and say Hi. I will be in the vintage section with my 1933 Rolls Royce 20/25. This afternoon I got my car out of storage and it started ok after a bit of churning to get the fuel up. Now on my drive I am not looking forward to defrosting it without a heater tomorrow morning! richardmorris, Mrs6C, Dyslexic Viking and 1 other 4

I'll be at Stony tomorrow in my decidedly not vintage but very patinated Saab 900 convertible. Six-cylinder 1

I bought a cheap 12v car heater, but can't remember where I put it.
Zelandeth Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm intending to be there tomorrow. Hoping it's less mobbed than it was at the last NYD show as you could barely walk around the place was so rammed. richardmorris 1

Zelandeth Posted 47 minutes ago Posted 47 minutes ago It was the Berkerleys I was worried about last year, they're so low as to be damned near invisible at the best of times! Six-cylinder and richardmorris 1 1

richardmorris Posted 42 minutes ago Posted 42 minutes ago Good luck. I hate crowds and am planning on going for a bike ride.
