Surely Will Clelland could do something with this too... XUD in the Volumex, supercharger in the Samara, everyone in Malham gets wiped out for Christmas. It'd be a masterpiece.

I'm sure I was Will Carr last time I checked my birth certificate.

Unless I am a cross between me and a bellend.

More the John Clelland approach to most things when driving. Like Joe Clelland. Unless you'd prefer to be a McRae, but the thought of an XUD powered helicopter terrifies even me.

Oh bugger.

Do not, under any circumstances, let me buy this off you after a few drinks.  (Although if that fails, do you do divorce work at all?)

FFS, dude, you decided not to buy it a month or two ago when it was all working, and now you want to buy it when it is a shagged out heap of wreckage? You must be on Autoshite or something.

Aye, John Cleland was a fair man - at first I did not realise the reference - in hindsight I don't mind adopting his last name!

No no, I've still decided not to buy it.  And must not weaken.  I still have no space and the taxman is about to take all my money.

I know that piece of the well-known M25 only too well... Where's the car at the moment? If I can help with recovery on the back of my Citroën Xantia using an "A" Frame I'm happy to oblige for pork pies, beer & petrol money. PM me if you think I can.

Bad luck BV but hopefully it's mendable at a cost less than massive bumrape. If not then it would look GR14 in the garden, much better than bastard gnomes.

If it is bad, I may have sourced an engine to swap oot. Will update during the week once garage has said what situation is.

Any news?

I have been able to read but not write anything because I was in Wales without a password.

If beko 1987 is not able to help when needed then I am close enough to give you a hand if i can.

The Welsh Border:

English Border Guard.. Fuck off , if you want to go there good luck.

Welsh Border guard (in that accent).. Welcome to Wales boyo, have you got your password?

Six C..Password?

Welsh.. Yes, If you want to come here driving one of those you need a password.

Six C.. well nobody said anything about a password to me!

Welsh.. Car is impounded then until you get one, hand over the keys now.

Six C..(spends some time faffing about trying to find a password before saying) Shit ! I suppose you will take it now, here are the keys.

Dollywobbler.. (races home in his new shite auto as fast as he can go*) using a bad welsh accent.

Six C..Walks about Wales looking for his password.

Stuno.. talking instead of shutting up and deleting this post

I should have know the trip was going to have its problems when in Gloucestershire a Pheasant flew at my grill and broke it!

Hope the HPE can live on.  Lovely cars.

At least you had an Autostrada moment with an equally rare Alfa 75 opposite.

No news as garage not reopening until Monday.

See NEW THREAD for Shitely enquiry in case need new engine shipping down from Scottlandoshire Land.

Seems unlikely to be anything other than a dead engine, given the Amoco Cadiz impression. Still, fingers crossed for Monday.

Sorry for being a bit of an armchair general, I really do wish I was close enough to lend a hand.

I was going to say I'd spotted an identical one of these today, then I checked your location and I guess it's the actual Breadvan vehicle!  CELEBRITY AUTOSHITE SPOT.  So why didn't I see you outside, bodging the block back together with Chemical Metal?

La macchina è scopata.

Needs a short engine.  I am about to move house, so this project not for me.

The car has loads of spares, including wings, door skin, sunroof, radiator, brakes, seat cloth, and isn't in bad nick structurally.     Supercharger works fine.  Anyone want to cart it away for a thousand quid?

Bumpage.   Must get off arse and do eBay ad.

Seriously bad luck there BV. Almost 25 years since I had an HPE in my life. It expired on the southbound carriageway of the M5 in similar fashion one New Year's Eve.

This is so very nearly tempting, but I suspect sourcing a block etc. could be a right old laugh PITA though, especially as the kit car lads and lasses love these engines.

Did Facebook reveal any promising leads?

Anyone on here know if all the 2 litre Lampredis are much the same?

The block may be the same, but many other things are different as between a supercharged and a normally aspirated two litre Lampredi.

There was a complete and allegedly working Volumex engine for sale on Craigslist earlier this month.  Also a few cars in scrappers with engine but no supercharger that might be cannibalised.

Talking of a bloke with lots of Lancias, does anyone know what became of Betaboy2.0?
