How to break into a 2004 Honda Accord

Without damaging it.

Well yesterday was an Epic Trip.

3:15 am Daughter Phoned my wife's mobile, and found it OFF. Then phoned mine, and found it on silent. Then phoned the land line, which found be stumbling down the stairs to try to answer it, but it clicked onto the stupid woman, asking the caller to leave a message. Daughter did not leave a message.

Then she sent text messages.

Then phoned land line.

Eventually via 1471 we worked out who was calling. at 4 am

Daughter was in tears in her student digs some 212 miles away in Cardiff.

So at 4:15 am I took the dog for a walk around the block and at 4:45 we got in the Accord and Went to Cardiff.

At 8 we arrived in Cardiff.

Daughter not well, so stayed all day, filled her fridge and freezer, cooked her a couple of meals, and then at 6:30 phoned the RAC to tell them I was an idiot.

I'd locked the keys in the boot.  Wifey was rightly a bit cross as RAC T&C's would mean that they'd make an attempt, but if not then tough. No recovery as NOT a breakdown. Which would mean an overnight stay and me getting a £60 return ticket to pick up spare set on the train. Only 3 changes needed.

So after giving the nice chap the benefit of my Honda lock knowledge, we (he) managed to poke a long wire down to the boot release, (which I never lock) in the foot well. And pop, the boot is open. Keys sitting in a box of tea bags which I'd opened to make myself and wifey a cup of tea before coming home. (Daughter has no NEED for tea or coffee as she only drinks water and Vodka.

No photos as erm my phone had 5% battery and wouldn't let me use the flash, and it was almost pitch black.

Got home at 11:30pm, and took the dog for a walk around the block (sister in law had taken him to the beach with her dogs at lunch time so he wasn't too frisky on our return.)

I am now making coffee, and about to phone Recruitment Body, about my start date for a contract in Derby.

Hope the daughter is well.

The old foot well or door panel release is an old classic. I did this on my 98 Honda and the clothes hanger worked on the C70 when my mum put the keys down in the boot when she was unloading and then shut it.

Tkks 4that..... [lateral thinking moment].... my hatch release lever is just by the drivers seat (and petrol flap lever) and it lets you in over the back seats.

Alarm siren WILL wake dead tho :(

Boot releases switch is handy when in a convenient location.

Some bright spark in the Alfa factory thought it a good idea to put the remote boot release inside the glove box on some of their motors.

I managed to get into a Saloon one with the coathanger down the side of the window technique. Took forever though.

Apparently [old wife may be responsible for this] if you run into the back [gently] of most cars with central locking, it will activate the system............something to do with emergency services requirement for access into the car in case of an accident.

This may be complete and utter horsefeathers, don't try this at home, nuns and kittens etc etc etc
