YOU ARE ALL WRONG- THIS IS AUTOSHITE WHAT YOU NEED IS

I always had a strange attraction to early Mitsubishi L300 panel vans.

Crumple zone = knees though.

When I had a paper round, the newsagent had a new one in banana yellow. It was a 1985 B reg and he must have kept it 10 years until the floor fell out of the load bay.

Incidentally it replaced a Marina that was written off in a fire that also burnt down the local mot welding specialists workshop.

Did those come with the 1.4 petrol mill? I know the Trafic did. It doesn't light the tarmac up in a 340 so a well laden Renner van must be glacial.

I say Sherpa or LDV (aka Nuovo Sherpa).

Alternately anything with sliding front doors, Commer springs to mind.

I like these Hyundai H100 vans although sitting above the front wheels feels a bit bouncy,  Toyota engines apparently.

while looking on google images for an H100 pic I stumbled on this van bellow,  I want one now there's just something strangely appealing about it   :-D

Hyundai H100 uses Mitsubishi bits. In fact it looks a lot like an L300.

Anyway, WIN AT LIFE...

It also looks a lot like a Toyota Hiace which is what I thought they where clones of,

The original Renault Master was launched in 1980. Originally launched with the 2.5 L (2445cc) Fiat-Sofim diesel engine, and from 1984 with the 2.1 L (2068cc) power unit.[1] In rare cases the Master was sold with a 2.0 L or 2.2 L Renault petrol engine.

Feeling love for Traffic/Master- research needed, can I actually find one- a clockwork 1.4 would be a laugh but realistically with the prospect of working in London village something a bit more powerful would be better. Naturally would have to be painted in Renault Elf colour scheme with 3" masonry brush.

and a more manly one

You could always get a Mercedes Benz Vito. You could also by some primer and play dot-to-dot on the bodywork every 43 minutes.

*Edit: my experience of the Perkins engine LDVs was different to the above. They absolutely flew along, I was honestly holding the bastards back on my favourite route home. VERY impressed with the poke out of them, and they were n/a diesels too.

Fair enough, it's entirely possible (and probable) that the one I had was just f*cked

I've had good service from the sevel vans . 2.0 hdi 90hp is the best of the engines . watch for rust round the back end and gearbox issues. The swb low roof is huge inside compared to the same spec transit . It really is a box on wheels. 3 dirt bikes , 3 people and all the kit for a weeks riding was no problem.

Hadn't considered the LDV. I used to drive an F reg one. Whilst it was simple and a good load lugger it was murder doing long distance drives in it, terribly noisy and tiring.

If that really is your impression, then you should avoid anything but a septic dayvan.

Which you should anyway, because everything else is tosh.

If you need to take it into the London LEZ then that's going to cut down your options a bit.

It'll either have to be post 2002 or pre 73

or petrol/electric/LPG

or under 1.2T (little vans count as cars).

...or petrol/[...]/LPG...

Yank day van again.

Don't go into LEZ thankfully. Now you've mentioned it I'd like to drive an armada of diesel shitevans with shagged piston rings in there just to piss them off.
