Nice video, thanks for sharing! The Loadstar fire engine, NOA 622, still survives to this day. It's been restored and is owned by the chairman of the Austin Counties Car club, along with many other Austins!

Excellent video Grun_dig, I like how truck drivers were smiley clean-shaven men with neatly gelled hair and good story tellers who enjoyed thier rewarding job as the narrator put it. The village reminded me of Trumpton/Camberwick Green/Chigley.

It's kind of a shame that no car manufacturers have got the balls to make an advert for thier products like this today, complete with an overly posh and ever so toff-like accent.

Car adverts these days leave me at a loss as to what it is they are advertising - you get to see the car for approx two milliseconds at most, the rest of said advert seems to be lifestyle  :?

Going by my brochure collection, the turning point was the mid 1990's. Anything before then tended to concentrate on the spec and figures, after that it was what it said about you and how you and your perma-grinning attractive friends would look driving it to the beach

There was definitely lifestyle wankiness in the TV ads in the 80s, the Renault 25 driver who was going to go it alone is the example that springs to mind.

Brill vid! The scene where the lorry drives away towards a lake is part of the renown "Mach loop" in mid Wales. It's a route used by the RAF and USAF to practice low flying. Theres some impressive videos on youtube.

Great vid and nice to see Longbridge in it's heyday. I was down there a week ago - bit different now!

I thought I recognised it,doesn't look the same without a Mansel Davies milk tanker every 200 yds.

Funny you should mention that, I attended an evening class in video editing a few years ago (this was when inwas happier living on my own with the cat and running a shit_heap of an E-reg Sterling that did look better as time went on) where I asked the question about these new car adverts. My teacher told me that these adverts were nkt to/about selling the car but to make those who had already purchased one feel better about their purchase.

I'm sure Monsieur Du Gong might have heard the same as he did a similar (but better) class to mine.

Not in this country! This ad is one of  series that grace the main evening weather forecast.
