Cracking pics trig. As a first timer who travelled 8 hours to get there it was magical.

Arrived to the campsite on the Thursday afternoon to have a Spitfire and Mustang take off and practice their display over the campsite. Followed by the owners of the Mk2 Jag race car camped along from us testing it on the road outside. Then the xj220 and F40 on the road on the way to the supermarket. And all that before I got in the gate!

Here's some pics...

The highlight of the weekend for me was the tribute to the WW2 veterans, They had a backstory on the TV screen about the race tracks origins back to the war and how it came about then they played a number of WW2 songs whilst a large number of old WW2 vehicles done a circuit of the track along with a several Willys Jeeps with the old war veterans inside, all while the Spitfires and Lancasters done loops of the circuit above, it really was a humbling experience that gave me goosebumps. Very impressive.

I was thinking your car was on show or something like that. I saw on Facebook that my mate was going there and said if he see's some guy from Essex called Trigger, with a blue Mk3 Cortina to say hello.

I would not have normally done that sort of thing but the possibility that I got a mate who I have not seen for 10 years and lives at the other end of the country, to speak to a guy I have never met in person, on my behalf, at something called a Retro Revival was too much to pass up on....if it had worked.

Did not realise quite what it was like TBH. Photos are ace Trig, I really need to head down there.

Just so much great stuff. I love the buses and the white  zero effort shite Roller.

I thought the classic car park was only open for tax exempt cars, nice to see a few interesting later cars sneak in.

Excellent thread Trig! That looks like a properly brilliant event which I'll have to find some way of attending soon.

Fantastic photos

The car park is brilliant and it is great to see a Muira next to a Minor (etc).

Fantastic photos, thanks for posting them up!

I went there about 5 years ago for a day, and it was superb.  Then I went 2 years later, dressed up (it seems a portly country gent from the '50s was exactly my size).  I bought the clothes from ebay for about £30 rather than hiring them.

The attention to detail of the event is wonderful; those Paddock card tags with string that you tie on are such a neat touch, and everything there is carefully thought out.  I also love the rarity of cars they get.  The cars are revving up to start and over the tannoy the bloke will say "there were only 8 of these Ferraris made in 1959, and we've got them all here on the grid today".  That's impressive.

While I love cars I don't really know much about planes, but the sight and sound of the Spitfire flying very low overhead does something funny to my insides.

The autograph pic is Win Percy isn't it? The Revival is a great event. I went to the first 6 then stopped due to September being my busiest month. Full marks for making the effort with the attire - Mrs Trig looks fantastic! You have to take care when gawping at the beautiful machinery as a US serviceman will usually sweep in with effective chat-up lines...

Gooders at revival time has to be seen to be believed....Just because my attitude to Tesco and peepul en masse has kept me away for a year or so should not let my negativity put anybody off attending.    If you just focus on the car park and the circuit itself you will see all you need to give you the Goodwood Goosebumps.   There is nothing like it on earth and only the Brits in my opinion can understand it well enough to organise such an event.   I have been to Le Mans Classic and that comes close but nothing is quite like the Revival.  Never mind Scotland - Goodwood Revival should vote for independence......Minus Tesco, of course.
