Teng spanners

Anyone any experience of these? Was going to get a set to replace the medley of old spanners I've accumulated over the years that are either cheap or rusty

Teng Tools are pretty decent in my experience.

Someone once told me that one of the big name brands (Halfords Pro Series but I may be wrong) are just rebranded Teng. If you can afford a set of Tengs, then bloody well go for it!

I've got loads of teng stuff, most important part is the fact the fact they replace with no quibbles. *Teng spanners may bend if subjected to extra bending moments*

Teng are ok mid range tools which did me proud when i just used them at weekends before i set the business up. Now i use the tools every day all day having got the business going ive had quite a few of them fail / wear out etc - im now upgrading to snap on throughout the toolbox - the step up in quality is very noticable but you do have to be using them intensively to make it worth the extra money

They're cheaper than the best like FACOM etc and I've had a Teng spanner set for the past couple of years.

I've bent a couple when using them as levers so they're not bulletproof. AFAIK they're also made in the Far East and not Sweden but could be wrong. The physical design is a lot better than Halfords, they could fit bicycle pedals whereas the former could not. I'd recommend paying slightly more and buying Wera instead.

My brother sold me a set of teng spanners for ten quid that were stolen from some hardware shop and then given to someone and then sold to him. This was about 15 years ago and they are still doing well, they are really really good quality.

If they're good enough for Edd China, they're good enough for me.

If they're good enough for whoever really does the work for Edd China, they're good enough for me.

EFA. Allegedly.

Also, each episode ends with "thanks to Teng Tools" in the credits so I suppose you can only compare them to other free tools ;-)

I bought a torque wrench for my son and a ratchet handle for myself, to replace a broken one.  Both seem to be fine.

The old fella's tool box is choc full of Teng stuff, he's a retired colliery fitter, so they will have been abused big style

I couldn't use them because the logo scares me.
