What's it worth? 2003 Xsara Pickarsehole 1.6LX

As above. No MOT, in reasonable nick with pretty decent tyres. Has the usual not-working N/S headlamp, but I know how to fix that.

A friend of mine wants to buy it, but I'm not sure how much it's worth. No price from the seller (it's a relative)

Any ideas folks?

Thanks in advance.

No MoT?  Price depends entirely on whether it's likely to pass another one (or more).  If it's looking even slightly dicey, bridge money.  The better its chances, the more you can ask.  Or if time allows, bang it through and if it passes, then you must be looking at £400-ish.  Maybe more, how pretty* is it?

Cheers Eddy. It looks alright, considering it's a people carrier. No major dings or trim missing.

Accordingly, I shall advise my mate to offer £250 if she wants to chance it, or £400 if the seller MOT's it first.

Ta muchly.

That sounds like the right ballpark.  Whichever way the parties involved go, it should* lead to a smooth transaction.

I hate getting involved in this sort of thing, but the friend in question really doesn't have anyone else to ask about this sort of stuff.

It'll want to be pretty good for £250 with no test on it, and I'd humbly suggest circa £200 should be seen as a result for the vendor. They are very popular (and not as bad as some will tell you) cars and I'd reckon on it seeing possibly £650 with a full test, the right mileage and in decent nick.

As little as possible.  If you can get away with them paying you to take it away, all the better.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to have a look at it tomorrow.

And with sills at the back.

He will increase the chances of a sale by accepting giros.

It's a prime Facebook selling page car, as you'd be inundated with every two bob cock rocket in a 50 mile radius offering a stupid price, before someone mental who just saw a shiny lump of people carrier-ish metal paid silly money for it.

Then, a week later they'd be on there saying one of the wheeltrims very nearly fell off and could possibly have flown through their (closed, double glazed, sixth floor) bedroom window, and decapitated their 8 month old baby. Numerous threats would follow, loads of people would say 'OMG DISCUSTIN' and call you a con man, and you'd be faced with the e-rage of several fucking morons who probably never go out of the house.

^That is a chilling and very real piece of predictive advice and precisely the reason I dwell not in the region of Fuckbook, peepul carryers or morons in general....well, knowingly, anyway.

Well I've just sold mine.A 51 plate 1.6 petrol just done 100k and with a full ticket for £400.Middle of the sills (rather than the rear) had been patched for last year's test.Stacks of history and that nice Diablo metallic red so a slightly newer one with no MOT must be £200-ish.

Shitroen can haz been bought for 200 nicker. It needs an alternator, so the seller is going to get one from a breakers and leave it in the car.

I now desperately need to find an excuse for NOT fitting said alternator, as I believe it's a bit of a bollocks.

Thanks again, everyone for your sage words.
