Been a busy week.

Last Friday I travelled to Middlesborough to collect the 244DL.

Yesterday I drove to Chester to swap the T5 with Bill for his Picasso.. (more on that later)

This morning I am sitting at Newcastle Airport where I am about to board a flight to Bristol. I'll then head into Bristol TM when mid pm ill catch a train to Exeter where Phil is meeting me after work. Then back to his house before leaving to drive the 5 or 6 hours back to Hexham. I am taking a travel rug with me for a) giffer points and B) ill need to kip at some point..not the whippersnapper I once was and I find the long drives really take it out of me these days. Kind you, with the XM I'm probably in one of the best evar long distance cruisers for saving your fatigue.

Don't expect too many updates today. It's going to be a long one!but the prize will be worth it.

The XM is needed for work. I pull about 1500 business miles a month and this baby will save me a fortune in fuel costs due to the bosch pump.

Talking of Bristol TM, I think I saw Phils XM driving past on Satuday.... Well, I think it was him!

Yarrrgggg

at Bristol Temple Meads...

Bit of a wait now. I can has picnic. Bread water coffee and feta cheese.

Time to do some surreptitious trainspotting.

Bristol ...been here a few times before. It's easy to forget that Bristol was flattened by the luftwaffe. Rebuilt like many bombed towns with unbridled trunk roads all over the middle.

Anyone mentions Bristol TM and I think Supertramp. Good luck Scooters, remember the pez station photo.

We gotta use public transport m8 its good for da invirament!! Na honestly this reminds me of my dads moan. Its cheaper to use his Jag 3.0 for work (15 mile round trip) than using the local bus!!

When I worked in St Albans it was £32 return on the train or about £12 in petrol running an E39 BMW....Sorry but people are never going to ditch their cars for public transport in this country!!!

Moan over, please continue collecting chod :-D

Ok..

M5 M6 A69

Or

M5 M42 A42 MY A1M A1 A69...

I'm thinking latter route as I am so flipping bored of the M6 and the A1 takes more concentration and therefore easier to stay awake.

Posted

I won't hit any population areas till after 9 so traffic not a huge issue

Posted

The A1 has a long 50mph area with speed cameras from around Brompton on swale to catterick north yorkshire. Both south and north bound were they are widening the lanes.
