I think those Mk3 Zephyr/Zodiac estates are great-looking things, the conversion worked really well on them whereas on both Mk2 and Mk4 it looked a little awkward.Carina man’s hair (or lack of) is as expected!

Bit of a Regie themed update from the local shows recently.

R12 belongs to a nice chap from York who some of you may know from RCC but I didn't catch his name. Lovely car.

Found some better pics of the R5 from about 4 years ago sans ungainly badge bar. Funny, but it only seems to turn up at this small local show:

Her are some better pics of that R11 Turbo at today's show at Elvington air museum. Nice tidy example but needs a bit of detailing. I'll load up the rest of the car and plane pics as and when. Not a bad do really. :D

That is really nice. As you say, a bit of time spent on detailing and it would be 110% lovely.

Got some time off this week so I might actually get round to posting my recent pics! Random tat to start off with, then I'll do the shows.

Classy:

Posted Image

Seems to be a few of these around my area, could be owned by same guy. Only one I've managed to capture so far and it's a crap pic!

Posted Image

Early Mk2 Fezz looking a bit sorry for itself but cheered up by Oh-so-80s graphics!

Posted Image

There are three really tidy Hiluxes like this around here, one red, one white, one blue. For those of you viewing in monochrome, this is the blue one:

Posted Image

A few at the local tat-friendly garage today. Volvo is dusty and needs detailing but is in mint condition. Maxi has taken up residence!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Jag hiding inside:

Posted Image

With this mint one owner Grandad estate. Sercks FTW. Chap has a few old cars.

Posted Image

Posted Image

On the way out from Billing at the weekend - should have been on the OJC stand!

Posted Image

Ex-Ratdat Renner 15 now lives up the road from me and shares drive with a really tidy 5:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

And finally, could not resist this

:D @ Teh Pog Emporium. Gold R5 is gorgeous, Grandad estate a thing of great loveliness also!

Rest of the pics from the show at Elvington air museum with some airborne interest thrown in for good measure.

Not sure you'd get me up on this Dakota, it looks awfully flimsy inside. Very thin aluminium structure with canvas stretched over it :?

Posted Image

I liked this P6 a lot, wheels suit it I reckon:

Posted Image

Not sure what was going on with this Escort van. It's a really early one but made to look like a Mk2. Needs chrome hubcaps and bumpers and a nice period paint job:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Quick, get it on eBay! :P

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Always get a snap of this Ascona, such a beauty 8)

VERY tidy Clubman estate

Bet this goes like lightning.....

Excellent Hurricane replica:

Its brother, the Spitfire:

And their arch-rival (also a replica, IIRC there are very few surviving 109s):

Posted Image

Halifax is ****ing huge  These things should NOT be able to fly!

Vauxhall Victor:

This RS1600i was completely original and very low mileage - unbelievable condition:

Smart Esprit S3:

Posted Image

Styled by Guigiaro, spoilt by using the naffest parts bin lamp we could find!

Posted Image

Interceptor has same repeaters - must have been special deal at the Motorist Discount shop in the 70s:

Rare Austin 101 always been in this area. You have to try and guess what colour it will appear in each year!

This has to be the best big Farina in existence. It's as straight as the day it was made, such a beautiful car:

Don't usually photograph Minors but I like to see them like this as BMC intended. This has the added interest that it may have been in the press fleet - a number of publicity cars have similar BJO numbers:

Mean looking Pontiac:

For sale if anyone fancies a nice Hunter - love this colour. Nice car with only a couple of minor blemishes:

On we go then. Newby Hall near Ripon is the highlight of the year oop north.

BMW 2000. Bit tatty inside so doesn't show off how well made these are to best effect:

Pilot hewn out of solid ingot of steel:

What a peach. Period detailing makes it appear scened however! These VW bods have a lot to answer for:

Newer version is a proper Romany:

"Oi wot u lookin at?" Picture shamefully taken purely for entertainment purposes:

Someone we know may have a coronary in a moment:

Here it is with a GM friend:

I always wanted a Lambretta:

Posted Image

This was one of a few early Minis ther. Quite a few seem to have appeared this year to coincide with the 50th anniversary. Nice story behind this one - it was the first in Cambridge and the dealer chose a special number VCE 7 for Austin "Seven" to go with it which it thankfully retains:

Posted Image

Fabulous Edsel:

Posted Image

Posted Image

And the way we did it here - just stunning:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Very nice stock Cortina, I'm liking Mk2s more and more these days:

Posted Image

Shiny:

Posted Image

Austin J2 Paralanian GR8 4 HOLDING EVERYBODY UP:

Posted Image

This is a really early Alpine. It's gained some Minilites and stripes since I last saw it:

Posted Image

I have a soft spot for old J-bikes as well as cars:

Posted Image

Questionable colours but a nice combo nevertheless!

Posted Image

This looks a pleasant way to spend your hols:

Posted Image

Now this is an interesting one and a nice surprise for me to see. These huge caravans were made in the late 30s and 40s by Coventry Steel Caravans using some very innovative methods. They were hugely expensive and survivors are very rare. It's relevant to me as I used to work for the company that absorbed CSC in the early 90s and our bespoke vehicle range traded using the name. A couple of the older guys remember these beautifully made creations:

Posted Image

There were some lovely early Beetles at this show so here's a medley of them for your delight. Not a trace of scene either thank goodness!

I've liked old Vauxhalls for a long time having owned an FB Victor. These were nice ones and in fact the low mileage Viva belongs to the current owner of my FB:

And to finish off, a Standard Vanguard Sportsman, one of only around 900 built:

Great work - my dad emailed me pics of old Taunuses from France and a Zaporetswhatever from Katatonia (it was one of the Baltic states, forgot which one it really was).

Been a lean time for spots round here lately, or rather ones with photo opportunities anyway. However a trip to Asda this morning yielded gold in the form of this minty Orion which I haven't seen for a while and only ever in the supermarket car park. A bit grubby and the photos don't do it justice - it really is like new. Still has all it's local dealer stuff on too.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Some more that have been kicking around in my camera and phone for a bit, including the locally registered Polo that I've been trying to snap for ages. There's a really early beige one that I see in a morning too but that has so far eluded the lens!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Ex-Ratdat Charade, as rare as you can get:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Only snapped this Sunny as it has a reg number that is almost the reverse of my Violet (PCF 182M)

Got some more to do of the car show at York a few weeks back.

That's quite an apt plate for a 305 diesel. :)

Glad I wasn't the only one that thought that!Almost good as seeing a Rover 216 cabrio with 'HGF' on the number plate in Altrincham.

I had a great (if tiring) day at the NEC last Sunday. Spent far too much on brochures, photos and mags but there's always so much obscure stuff to be had! Here are some of my pics, I've tried not to duplicate too much:

I'll start off with the bikes for a bit of a change to our normal stuff. In addition to old Japanese cars, I'm getting right into the bikes too:

That barn find Skoda Octavia (that's a classic Octavia, not one of those new ones!) looks bloody fantastic! I love that! After it that D.K.W. is also great! All in all an excellent show, by the looks of the pictures!

That Delta is extraordinary, i absolutely love it! I always scan the french sites for a cheap early delta but I havent come across one yet.
