Surely non-standard trims on the Astra? They were Corsa-issue, n'est pas??

Some sort of special edition methinks, there was badge on the door. you know the type - Merit with a better radio or something!

As above some Astras did come with these.

I've got an almost mint set of 4 of these from my old Corsa a the folks house somewhere if anyone wants them.

I remember those Maestro Clubman D's. I wonder why they all had wider wheels than other Maestros?

B*llocks :( I would love that (without those wheels and cleaned up-its not a vw you know)

Nice mix there Mash. Sunny coupe on well-chosen wheels looks very tidy.

Another great selection. Love the Anglia van on 1600E Rostyles, and the Vanguard pick-up. Is it an Aussie import, or were they actually sold here. And, I'm almost certain I photographed that "Starsky and Hutch" Marina in York last year- there can't be 2 like that surely?

Oh, hang on, Boroughbridge isn't far from york, is it?!

Some superb pics there... But what in God's name is that Jag XJ6/XJ-S/pick-up thing behind the shuvvit?

Lots of goodness but that 2CV... W-T-F?!

Not so much a spot as such but I could feasibly have seen these cars :P

My mum has worked at a local primary school for nearly 30 years (the same one I went to n fact) and is retiring this year. She brought a book home at the weekend which is a journal of events and stuff kept by the head in the 70s and 80s and there are some great photos in it of football teams and so on, many kids I recognise from schooldays. The one below is of the annual outward bound trip leaving in 1977 and as you can see there's an ace Toyota Corolla and Datsun 120Y there probably belonging to teachers. The Bedford coach is from Foreman's, a local company whom the school used for years and they were always immaculately turned out.

Coach reg is XAW 537K and the Corolla is PKH 480M.

Some snaps form the recent East Coast Run now. This event goes from Hull to Bridlington and the old buses well and truly hold up the usual Sunday daytrippers on their way there!

The nice thing about this event is that it tends to draw quite a lot of locally registered vehicles.

First a local National (is that an oxymoron?):

Love the livery of the old Hull buses:

Someone's been polishing their Rocket:

I'd better do these in batches in case I delete the Firefox tab and lose everything I've typed again FFS :x

Not everyone's cup of tea but this Escort Cab was like new:

Oooh must be worth a million pounds at today's prices. Oh no hang on it's a 4-door, that'll be 900 quid then! Another tidy local car:

Nice car, shame about the headlamps IMO:

I like these Cav Sportshatches:

Three words: skin, rice, pudding:

Now this VR would not normally get me excited, especially not being an East Yorkshire one, but I was gobsmacked at the quality of the resto. Not one dent or ripple in any of the panels anywhere, absolutely MINT:

Dennis F8; fire engines should always look like this:

These two both from Crystal Ford in Hull or Beverley. XR3 was an extremely early one. I think the Orion was in the car park last year:

Brilliant selection of vehicles there!

Gorgeous resto - did you get a pic of the yellow Alexander-bodied bus next to it?

Love this Foden tractor:

And this Atkinson from Armstrong's Shock Absorbers I probably saw coming out of the factory in Beverley when I was a nipper:

Posted Image

Surprising how many S800s seem to pop up, don't think I've seen this one before, very cool:

One for Fred

Nice Alfa, also Hull registered, not sure who the dealer was in the 70s:

Posted Image

East Yorkshire have a few old'uns in their preserved fleet although this OB was from the Isle of Man originally:

Posted Image

Not normally one for Beetles but this one was fantastic and has always been in the area. Looks completely original to me:

And there's always room for a Jeans one:

OMG scene alert!

Looks a very pleasant day out. What did you take along?Granada estate must've started its life round Suffolk area when I lived there back then. Funny how a registration on a car gives it that little bit of extra meaning isn't it? Glad we have the system where plates belong to the cars and don't change when ownership transfers.

Been lucky the last couple of years that it's been red hot, lovely up on the cliff top there.I went in the B10, generated some good interest (and bemused a few as usual  )

Here's a bit more random toss when out and about. The Carina was a minter. I saw a fabulous early Cavalier Mk2 yesterday but I chickened out of a snap because there were quite a few folks about  I'll try again as it looks like a regular parking spot.
