O. M. G. Pineapple Volvo tax.

The SVM is doomed :(

I thought it was jars of mayonnaise with Volvos? The Kia Pride at Shitefest had bonus bonus pineapple content.

Can you please elaborate on the Ovlov - mayonnaise connotation?

I thought that was more a K-series thing *trollface*

PLEASE tell me the 405 saga hasn't ended! Where else are we going to find 20 pence piece related tales of woe?

It's a strange mix of pineapplism and the YouTube sensation Regular Ordinary Swedish Mealtime. At least I think it is...

The 405 disappeared a few months back. It had got to the point that there was a semi-serious suggestion of a Shiteist consortium putting the vendor out of his misery.

PRE-DINNER MAYONNAISE!!!!!

Funny phakt, eating pineapple is meant to make your semen taste better for that special lady in your life

Pineapple can be eaten if there is enough gammon steak underneath it.

Looked up gammon steak and found out that this is actually a slice of pig's leg and somewhat like our boiled ham (Kochschinken), is that true? Sounds promising. And yes, we do need a recipes corner in the open forum.

No,  I don't think so Stormee. Gammon steak has a more stringy texture. Think bacon turned up to 11.

It's like when they put pineapple on a pizza. Who the fuck has fruit their pizza? That's like having meat in a trifle.

You are making me hungry. Gammon and pineapple is just fine but does need a fried egg or two with it.

Theres a place near me that does a delicious sounding soft shelled crab burger. I need to go and try that at some point. NOM NOM NOM.

I am glad that Junkman knows that lobster is a type of fruit.

Gammon with pineapple is lovely , gives it a sharp sweet tang. Like raisins in a curry.

Raisins in curry are anathema!   As for gammon with pineapple: me, I love the seventies, me, but that's just a bleeeeeeuuuurrrcccchhhhh too far.

Useful fruit for savoury cooking:

lemon (with pretty much anything)

apple (with pork, mainly)

juniper (with game)

plum (with duck)

tomato (if you are in the tomato is fruit camp)

Pineapples, strawberries, raspberries, kiwi fruit, grapefruit, melon, mango : NOOOOOOOOO.  OK, maybe some mango chutney. Bananas?  Well maybe, but I fookan hates them anyway, so bleh.

Gammon is sometimes called ham as well. It is seasoned in brine.

But it is seldom served boiled.

It's best cooked under a hot grill with brown sugar sprinkled liberally over the fat before cooking.

Serve with chips/fried egg/pineapple ring.

The acid in Pineapple juice breaks down meat fibres, if you inject enough a joint of pork will look like mince.

In WW2 a group of sailors spent some time on a deserted island where the only available food was pineapple,

when they were rescued, they didn't have a single tooth left in their heads.

Edit, just looked up Kochschinken and Gammon is similar, but raw and sliced much thicker, about a centimetre.

I forgot to add that anyone who puts pineapple on a pizza MUST BE KILLED.

Thank you, that is all.

Great dish! Pineapple as raw chunks or just the juice is a nice marinade as well.

Poor sailors! Pineapples contain a lot of vitamins and minerals but the human body cannot make use of them without a little amount of oil or fat.

I've found one of the best things you can put on gammon is lentil sause. It can't remember what goes in it (apart from lentils). I know it's useally hippy vegitarian stuff, but vegitarian food is fine if you add meat to it.

What does a rock band have to do with raisins in curry?

The only reason you think this, is because you've not covered a slice in brown sugar & blasted it under a hot grill for five a side.

When you've done this, you won't ever go near Lentil sauce again.

Consider it one of life's great lessons.
