Astonishing 100E, except they don't actually look like that, they're quite short and dumpy. Maybe it's a rare factory roof chopped version for not-tall people.

'Dear Chrysler,

Please please could you donate a new Avenger for our latest car project. We will carry out minor mods only to the car and say that all Chrysler products are the very bestest in the whole fucking world ever.

Yours, etc, Custom Car Magazine, around 1976'.

(This actually happened. I don't think Chrysler were too happy with the end result. I don't think they wanted it back).

Which would you choose, MGB or children? Well now you can have both with the MGBGT.

Fuck off frost, for I have a defrosting gun with a long flex and I'm not afraid to use it.

The 'Limpet'. Out of all the names in the world . . . .

Gives complete coverage in rain. Impressive selling point for a tent, as opposed to 'It Doesn't Give Very Good Coverage In Rain'.

Wear these - feather light and sensitive.

No need to worry about fast growing children.

Are they any good in flooded conditions?

Looks like they invented the hairdryer by mistake...bit of conundrum though...if your lock is frozen how do you get into the car to plug it in Q?

One wheel trailer. Self-emptying as you drive, dispose of any rubbish you have, broken TVs, old washing machines, old shoes, garden leaves, etc.

In the great tradition of not testing your product before production - have an idea and just make - let the buyer do the testing. One wheel and crazily shallow - attached to the bumper by two big u-bolts too.

I was going to pop over but looking at streetview I see they are no longer at 407 High Road Finchley which is now a petrol station on the north circular. Little do those innocently filling up these days realise it was once the home of this single-wheel invention. Perhaps there should be a blue plaque?

Or dry clean only...Brave brave man was Donald Campbell. The later Bluebirds were really a jet engine with wheels or hull with Donald attached.

Always short of ££'s he must have done the ad to raise money for his exploits.

That footage on Coniston always sticks in my mind as I am old enough to remember it happening at the time. People were stunned but he was well aware of the risks.

The boat is restored and viewable of course.

The restoration itself wasn't without controversy, as there is a body* of opinion* that thinks it should never have been raised / restored / run again.

1968 concept drawing for Datsun Sunny coupe. Pre 120Y production which didn't start till 73 and had an older style.  Hints of late 70s Sunny and Violet coupes, maybe even 80s Sylvias.

'Liar liar, pants on fire,  . . '.

And making the ad picture huge is fooling no-one.

I spent my teenage years as one of four lads in various Capris, for a while three of four of us had Capris and the other had a mk2 Escort. They may not have been massive but all of us were at least 5’11” and one was 6’2” and we fitted in ok.

In the 80s a friend had a deathtrap of a 70s Mini which had a one-piece lift-off Fibresports front end (no hinges at all). A rather exposed caravan socket was used for the front end wiring which caused all sorts of problems when driving in heavy rain.

Dunlop? WTF? Fascinating Rostyle fact number 33.

This is a new one to me. I thought they were all just 'Ford Rostyles'. Made by Ford or maybe by Rubery Owen. In two styles, the 1600E type and this 'wide slot' style used around 1971 on Capris and early Cortina Mk3 GTs.

Did Dunlop make these for MG and Rootes group and Vauxhall too? What about the Landcrab Wolseley thing? Who knows.

Rostyle were available for any make of car. My Hunter had them, my MG's does still.

Fuckin fucked m8.

Zat bit? We put it so close to ze wing it'll 'ave to come off to change it. And the wiring? She bears no resemblance to anything you've seen before. And you will need ze special tools to do almost anything. Now let me put ze spare wheel on top and get the lid shut.
