This was the scene in Helsinki, 1969. The morning rush hour, the traffic is going towards the city centre on Itäväylä road, Helsinki.

Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion, one of three built.

I went to one of his lectures a while back, he tackled many topics and it made a great impression on me especially his mathematical reasoning of why it was unlikely Earth is the only planet with life at this stage of evolution. He invented the Geodesic dome and was the first person to use the word synergy which he defined as doing more with less.

OK back to work.

The term Geodesic dome was coined by Buckminster Fuller in about 1946.

The first Geodesic dome was built in 1926 in Jena , Germany by Walther Bauersfeld - the Zeiss Planetarium.

He must have been in his mid seventies when he gave the lecture, a group of us at Ravensbourne Art College got tickets and traveled up to London, to somewhere near the Houses of Parliament.

The red Land Rover is on SORN. I wonder if it has SECURITY in big letters down the sides.
