We used to love riding in those Maltese built buses when on holiday in Malta when they were still in regular use rather than heritage type rides. Wasn't quite the same last time we were there without them.

The picture is marked with 1969 and that is probably correct considering how long lives the cars had here then.

For comparison, I know that a construction  company here had an ex wehrmacht Tatra truck bought at auction in 1945/1946, they kept it going until 1965 when it was destroyed in a garage fire. Which is impressive as spare parts were probably impossible to get hold of.

So I have no doubt that a Kubelwagen could be alive and in use in 1969.

These pictures are outstanding.  Such a range of cars: a British Vauxhall, a Russian Volga, Swedish Saab, German Opel, and is that a Borgward Isabella?  Love the Cresta, no idea what the man is doing!

He holds a radio and aerial from a scrapped Beetle to be fitted to the Vauxhall.

1956 Ford 12M photo taken in 1969 where it was driven over 1600km from the north of Norway to the capital and made the same trip north again the following year. It lasted until the winter of 1971 when it was scrapped.
