A car for shitefest, with shite now bought and collected

Problem with that is, it'll get there and back with the fuel that's in the tank when you buy it, not break down and be thoroughly pleasant to drive.

Where's the fun in that?

Yes,I know it's very tempting, but it's meant to be a car for Shitfest 2014 not Shitefest 2017.

The very blue Nissan is also a good call but it's too nice and whatever I buy may end up as the wife's wheels which means something that I wouldn't feel bad about getting the odd parking ding.

The Z will be repaired soon, a fix list is being worked on now (though it does go, just with a good tatt, tatt, tatt sound as the exhaust manifold gasket is knackered).

Book it for its test near SF'14. Or take a hammer to the slightly sticky brake (only mot issue, obv) and test afore ye go.

Monsieur Bolleaux has a Talbot Alpine available for a quartet of lager that just needs light* recommissioning.  Could be just the ticket.

Good call Vulgs, the Alpine is fab!

A car has been bought for £300 with no tax but it does have MoT until 2015 (by a couple of days).

Pickup and pictures tomorrow but as a clue it was designed in the mid 80's and mine is a 1999 build.

Ledbury Maestro? Although the Maestro was designed in the 70's I'm struggling to think what else it could be!

Next clue: variants of the same basic car were given badges of Japanese and American origin, mine is by the third manufactorer

^ Sounds right - Mazda 121, Ford Festiva, Kia Pride.  If so, I hope it's an early one that still has its whitewall tyres!

Kia Pride!

Darn right, it is a late edition of the Kia Pride though according to wiki, some hacked about version of the same car is still being made in Iran and Venezuela by SAIPA.

No fancy shit like central locking or electric mirrors on this little beast.

For a whole two stops down the line to here

A 10 minute walk down the road lead me to this

Which disappointingly was not what I was buying, however round the corner from it was my new chariot

Late reg madness?

It just needs some Ford Festiva badges to flummox the OSF numpties.

I think Wuvvum had one of these, and reported it being proper nippy like.

The Kia Rio took over in 2000 from the Pride

I think it has the potential to be nippy with 60 horses for 800kg, but the steering is only distantly connected to the wheels, the brakes feel like they are made of soft butter and the suspension is made of jelly.

Having only driven it through 30 mph urban roads so far I'm not rushing to hammer it down a country road at speed.

The car has only done 2000 miles in the last four years based on MOT mileage so a bit of running may do it good.

All fluids are as they should be so somebody has maintained it with the only obvious rust being on the leading bonnet edge.

Nah, not late reg madness. All the late ones seem to be that blue colour, though.

The bluesome twosome, a size comparison.

Well bought! Easy to forget just how compact cars could be back then. Did these always come with whitewall tyres when new?

P.s. what was the inspiration behind the new username?

Have I expressed my desire to one day own a Kia Pride?  I probably have.  Pink with whitewalls for maximum desirability though your late dark blue one is quite satisfactory.

On a quick net search, whitewall tyre piccys are fairly rare, that suggests not many were sold like that.

I was struggling with an autoshite suitable name to replace V40ish, on various other sites I have used Immunis, but Latin isn't Autoshite.

However I saw this news story http://www.bbc.co.uk...gazine-26734289 which included this epic piccy and was instantly sold.

and sloths are the most Autoshite animals going with the possible exceptions of the Dodo and the Kiwi
