Dodgy Accent - A Collection Thread

Last Saturday I sold this - the previous owner bought it back from me at a price I couldn't refuse. He regretted selling it and wanted it back.

Sunday I went on to eVilbay and won an auction for this at an agreeable price:

A Hyundai Accident 1.3 something or other. Two owners from new, 44,000 miles, 12 months MoT and 6 months tax. In resplendent red (in some places) and the interior has about fifty shades, oh dear, of grey.

So, on Tuesday evening at precisely 19.52 I started the epic three quarters of a mile journey from Tolvaddon to Tuckingmill. I arrived at the seller's residence at exactly 19.58. Handed over the loot, signed the papers and became the proud* owner of this Hyundai. So at about precisely 20.13 I began the equally epic three quarters of a mile journey home. As the car had quarter of a tank of fuel and I didn't need flowers for the missus and I hate Ginsters, there was no need to stop off at the fuel station. So no mandatory fuel station shot. So instead here is a day after jet wash shot.

It is an utterly miserable, uninspiring, mingebag spec car. And to be honest, I really rather like it. Not in the same way or even same league as my 205, but quite a nice little motor. Drives like new.

Erm. Well done... I think.... Seriously though, these are rather good.

Is this the shortest collection distance ever??

I like those Accents and tried to get one for my daughter, but she ended up with an Astra.

I've been to Seoul a few times and most taxis are Hyundai cars.  I have been in cars reading up to 750000 km on the clock.  Which, perhaps, means that there might be some over a million.

I don't think you go far wrong with them.

That looks completely acceptable as a daily commuting tool.  Well done on the epic collection too, did you have a good map?

Not bad, I like these in a way, they're completely honest, unpretentious transport with no aspirations to be anything other than cheap and reliable.

The very definition of Autoshite. A car with no redeeming features but which is somehow still good.

I love these (although not quite enough to actually own one) - as said, they're perfect cheap & unpretentious transport capable of inter-stellar mileages. I especially like the slightly 'angry' headlights, which are in total contrast to the cuteness of the car as a whole.

Nice one, i like these a lot, good shite.

Firstly the only car, and a Coupe of the same make, that my lad failed miserably to destroy despite trying his very worst.

I had one of the previous shape Accent as a hire car in Malta a good few years ago, done a few miles it had but the long travel and extremely compliant suspension soaked up the appalling roads with ease, confirmed what a good standard motor these are.

Thanks all. Really am pleased with it. It does everything I ask of it and more. Plus my lad prefers it over his mum's Rover.

I reckon I could live with one of these, the 1.5MVi even looks pretty sporty.

Had a P-reg previous generation Accent and detested every fibre of its being though

Had one as  hire car in Crete 2002 and is was a great little car. I'd roll in one for sure.

I knew a similar machine quite well and would rather go tobogganing down a lift shaft than park my arse in one again. Would be mega curious to find if these are better though. It's not like it's going to be hard.
