Le Spottisme rural.  These two haven't moved in the year or so since I have been living in me current gaff.  The Pug looks well kenackerated, but the Renault might still have some life in it.  The two of them look a bit like sculpture.

I shall post a note with yer number on it if you like.     The cars are at a farm about a mile or two from my place, on the way to Christmas Common.

I will also try to get some better photos tomorrow.

This is South Oxfordshire, the heaps in question being a few minutes chuggage from junction 5 of the M40,  I will check them out more closely later today.

A Renault 4 would suit m'lady as a summer daily, given her penchant for her Clio 172..

I like the glass screenwash jars. Safety first*

Riley Elf = three box Mini, innit.  But you lot of saddos all knew that anyway,

A batch of Renault 4s should be reissued. After all, it was the last Renault built that actually made sense.

I'd rather have a fogged up rear window than have that enormous stick on heater element visible all the time.

I don't mind either.

I also don't mind scraping the inside of the windscreen in Winter, and the glaze ice on the floor.

Nice.

Hmm, three-box Mini… Now that's a variation that BMW haven't foisted on us yet.  If they gave it the right chromed-up schnoz and called it the Riley Elf (or better still the Woolly Whores'Nest) I might even like it.  (But probably not.)

^ The very Woolly Whores' Nest to which I refer, m'lud.  (It was the great George Bishop who called them that, if you remember him from when CAR magazine was good.  I think he owned one.)

Issigonis hated them. "They've fitted winding windows! Gazdooks!" I'm sure he said that. Also, the boot hinges come down into the load area, so you don't end up with much more usable boot space than a normal Mini. They are cute though. Fins rule.

Except for the plastic window frames.

MOAR news re the two Frenchies at the top of the thread, but no photies because I did OMG I have gone out in a thirty year old car without a working mobile phone OMG, by mistake.  For my penance I had to follow some giffer wearing a flat hat in a BRG 1970/71 TR6 on the way home.

Back in Franceland:

Both of the heaps are LHD.  The 205 looks dead to me, and they are not exactly rare anyway.  It's a three door SR, year unknown.    The classy slotted steelies might be worth having and refurbing.

The Renault is a D reg, and looks well fooked, but possibly not terminally so.   It looks as though an elephant or Eric Pickles has sat on its roof at some point.

In the farmyard there is also a 205 moredoors minus bonnet that looks like it has already been comprehensively bumshagged for bits.
