Cars wot I have seen

Recommended Posts

Well,my 1st post!

Everybody loves to see abandoned or un-usual cars,so heres a few of my spots from my travels

Big tip,get yourself on the Yellow Pages delivery days.

Having a bundle of those big yellow books gives you permission to wander about Anywhere whilst "looking for the letterbox",especially in rural areas!!

YIKES! WANT!

I nearly had a coronary when I saw that. My heart is pumping at a strange pace....

You sir, have just made my day, even if this car does have questionable political views.

It is a late 1988/early 1989 Mk1'A' Sterling. They had smaller bumpers and those multi-spoke flat-face alloy wheels, known as "Luxury" alloys, a standard fitment to 1988 to 1989 Rover Sterling and optional extras on some lower models.

The interior would be full connelly leather as standard (unless cloth was specifically asked for) the colour woukd most probably be 'Flint' (a sort of Greeny-Brown colour) This car is the same as my White Mk1, except it has the 2.7 engine, slightly fewer touches such as loss of under bonnet light and less extra trim.

Oh, and welcome! Good tip about the Yellow pages.

BNP number plate gr8 for griffins m8s. Want level 8 on the sd1.

Top quality!   that 800 is in possibly the worst position for car preservation EVAH don't fancy its chances, LS - I reckon its already pretty green inside....

Liking that un-monged Mini hope it stays that way

Maybe black MGB man can find some more power tools in the YP to throw in his garage....

That 800 is an amazing spot! I can't remember the last time I saw one in the flesh. BNP plate is unfortunate, a mate of mine has a '77 Midget with a BNP plate (BNP 878S I think it is) and has got abuse for driving it around, despite the political party not existing back then.

Nice spottages. The Tranny ambulance has a very rapey vibe to it...

The black MG has a mk2 Golf decaying slowly in front of it,and a Locost type on a trailer at the back of them.

The 800 and the Golfs are parked up at the same house. There is a 5yr old Winnebago thing also parked up (just visible on the Golf pic)

Obviously not moved from under the pine trees for a while

Anywho,few more pics

An excellent first post, with some great spots as everyone's said.

Glad you look for the letterbox for the Yellow Pages - the herbert round here just chucks it on the wet grass so it's swollen to three times the size by the time I come home to retrieve it.

What's under the cat piss tarp? Series 3 XJ6?

Edited to add: Ho shit! Just saw the new pics - wow!

Christ, top spotting skills, you're going to fit in extremely well round here! Where did you take the pics by the way, spotted a couple of Shropshire area reg numbers int hat lot?

I know where this parked:

It's in Sutton Coldfield near Streetly where I used to store my cars I've also got a picture of it:

I took this a few years ago. It's just down the road from where there used to be a couple of Rover 800s on a driveway, now been replaced by a E39 5-Series and an A3.

Are you local to the West Midlands then? I am in Birmingham for the time being. If so, is that 800 Sterling in the West Midlands?

Welcome along, that's quite an introduction.  Top marks for the SVX, that's a rare motor.  I'd quite like to get that Transit and put it back on the road but leave the cosmetics exactly as they are.

I'm currenty located just outside Market Drayton, just  up the road from Prees Auctions (as it used to be)

The SVX is near Sutton Park.Managed to spot it when we attended a Husky meet there just before Xmas.

Made the boss turn around so i could get the pic ! lol

Don't know whats under the tarp,I was thinking Scimitar?

Honestly, the Yellow Pages job is great for getting to those awkward pics.

I had to drop a few at the local large Shooting Ground.Straight past the main gate's and all the attendant security, anround the back to the main showroom/sales area, and just wander in whilst asking for a Manager to sign for them.

Literally £1000's of shotguns and gear just leaning up against the walls and lockers whilst the owners were in the bar/resturant.

Got some pics on my old Iphone so I'll try get them up too
