Checked a few basics , confirmed that the gas is all working and were off to the petrol station. didnt get a proper shot cos when I was out putting wind in the tyres it started hailing and the missis was getting impatient

Well it drives better than it looks . The interior apart from the headlining is amazingly clean and tidy and BROWN

Gas and autobox is sweet and the whole doesnt drive like 231k miles.

Further reports when I pop it on the ramp but im looking forward to taking it to wales

Smashing car giffer spec aswell in bronze! Mine had saggy headlning- got some fabric spray glue from a haberdashery and that did the trick.

Great! I miss not having one. Strange to think they came in 2, 3, 4, and 5 door versions. Ive had all except the 4.

I love how when you look around them at the body design and details you can only conlude that there wasnt spying going on over someone elses shoulder. They did it their way.

B i L had one. Someone stole the windscreen >> no knives... just popped the door + two feet over dash [said screen fitter  ] and away!!

Hush now, it may hear you.  Remember, form is temporary but class is permanent  :-D

I've yet to visit planet Saab but I'd be more than happy with a 900 like that.

Looks, good.

I've always liked the look of the 900's but I must be the only person on here who doesn't like how they drive.

In all these years of Shiting, I've never driven as much as one Saab.  The reports are mostly good, so one day maybe... meanwhile, how can you go wrong for that money?  Well bought sir, and glad you made it home ok.

I have literally just bought this for Shitefest wales and would be happy to sell/ swap it with something up there .

I will bring my trade plates to tax not important to me.

So if anyone wants to scratch that saab itch

For that reason if no other, you should be awarded the Autoshite equivalent of a knighthood!  A 1977 Lancer with a vinyl roof, perhaps?

The beauty of Trade insurance means I can try all these random cars/vans at minimal cost.

:-D

Ralph Lauren buys a Bugatti to do pebble beach or whatever, but twosmoke gets a metallic bronze 900 with paint issues to do shitefest in, sounds much more like it!!!

Saab did do some wonderfully vivid-coloured interiors in the '80s.

I have to say that's the first 4-door non-turbo 900 Classic saloon I've seen in a good few years.  I've never had an auto 900 on the road (I had an 8 valve turbo auto - white with vivid green velour - years ago, but never got it roadworthy) - what are they like to drive?  I'd always imagined them being a bit undergeared on the motorway.

Can't complain for £295 with a working gas conversion though...

Well I've done a few miles in it today .

What a lovely old car. Must of been some machine when it was new.

It's seen some love in its time too. Full Saab history to 201k . All the electrics Inc cruise etc work.

Just a pity it is so rough in the body really.

Not horrendous but doors are Fucked etc etc.

You will see it in Feb if your going to the sw meet

Well the Saab has been pressed into loan car duties . Firstly for a customer with an 06 Octavia and then for my brother when his 9-3 diesel went poorly.

It's the world's worst loan car. Old shitter , auto , on gas , and Saab weirdness.

Everyone that drives it loves it though.
