halfords tool sale, 50% off online

Just been in and picked up a 90 piece, 3/8 1/2 and 1/4 drive socket set and a 30 piece general tool set for £64 with lifetime guarantee. Reserved online and collected in store, quality seems very very good when compared side by side to my old signet stuff. Going in the boot for mobile jobs when I'm not near home.

*I am aware I seem to be turning into the special offers fairy. Eye for a bargain me!

great heads up, everything that saves beer tokens is a good thing

I don't buy anything from them out of principal anymore. I asked for barrier cream and the member off staff brought me some copper grease. Not really confidence inspiring is it?

Not bad this, I've been thinking of getting a 1/4 drive socket set, I might just leap on it

Halfords Pro tools are excellent, I buy lots of them; use with confidence.

I gave up with everything else from Halfords after I enquired if they could get hold of an air mass meter for my Range Rover.  The young lad looked confused then started leafing through his Laser tools catalogue

Yeh the staff are best avoided , then again at the prices they charge so is most of the stock....

Not all the staff are idiots, in one of my local stores they're brilliant.

Keep the heads up coming please, Dave, always good to know if there's an offer on tools etc.

My local Halfords are hit and miss. A couple of the chaps there are really knowledgeable and I make a beeline to ask them stuff, the rest are students who would not know one end of a Corsa from the other (bit of a worry as they probably drive them!)

Their tools are rife in my tool chest, life time guarantee, what's not to like?

The pro tools are ace. You can proper abuse them and they will happily replace them if they break. IIRC Volksy proper knacked a strong arm bar by using it in a manner that is probably not advisable (that sounds dodgy) and they happily changed it.

I need to take some sockets back to them but am not sure if they will still replace them with the locking wheel nuts still wedged in them.

Yeah, I worked there on cycles for a bit. Oh, hang on a minute...

The pro tools are indeed great, you could say they are the snap-on for the common man. They also hand out trade cards to any tom, dick or harry, plus the till girl in my local store has massive tits and looks like a slut, they have my custom.

I know that guy, used to work in the chemists. Trust me, he's safer in Halfords.

On a private road, involving a trolley jack, a strongbar and Renault Master.

Yes, It does sound dodgy.

I trashed my halfords pro tool kit and they replaced all the ratchets for me, plus a split spark plug socket I abused to death removing wheelnuts. The warranty doesn't cover the ratchets and I had lost my receipt so I was mega happy. The guy possibly got sacked afterwards mind.

I've just ordered one of those 1/4 drive socket sets. LOVELY SHINY NEW TOOLS

I got one of their pro tool sets last year when it was half price and it's good to have a decent set of reliable tools. Amazingly I've only lost less than 10% of the tool kit so far,
