Your bringing tools ! Have you seen what I'm bringing ? I'm taking my whole roll cab

Where do you work Holbeck? No chsnce you could be there at lunchtime for a bit or something?

As for pubs, there are pubs in Moretonhampstead, ie walking distance from the museum, so we only need to park once!

Posted

Should be OK for Saturday lunchtime at least.  Look forward to hearing about a suitable pub.

Posted

Sounds good to me, if we have the pub as meeting point and a suitable time for everyone then we're sorted.  We doing a pub lunch?  If so I guess meeting around midday makes sense.

Posted

I work in Exeter, so I could make a flying visit at lunchtime I'll just have to keep an eye on what you guys arrange.

(Visit to the museum before lunch would be good for me also).

I suggest that we meet at the museum, mid morning, and then go to a pub.

There are pubs within walking distance, because the museum is in the town, but I don't know them. So we could either wander along to one and try our luck, or have a shite convoy back to my village, about ten minutes away, in order to eat at my local, which I can vouch for.

10am is good for me.

Pub-wise, how about a choice between:

1. The Union Inn, Moretonhampstead. Looks ok and cheap food, probably fine but I can't vouch for it. A short walk from the museum.

2. The Drewe Arms, Drewsteignton. Really good pub, it's my local. Slightly dearer that the Union Inn for grub but it's always good. This one is a short (5-10 min) distance away from the museum by shite convoy.

Maybe the choice might depend on which is deemed more appealing: the convenience of being able to park only once, in a car park right by the museum, or the fun of a drive along country lanes between museum and boozer.

If the Drewe Arms is people's preference then I'll let them know we're coming so they keep some space for us. Thus, it would be useful if people post their intention to come so that we can have an idea of numbers. Ta!

I'm in with bells on. Make room for Saab 900 on the back of a slidebed (probably)

Thanks for pointing it out, no it was the wrong one. Actually I can't find a website for the Drewe Arms in Drewsteignton, though there are reviews and stuff.

Cant wait to read some reviews after we have been .

"Looks a lovely pub but was let down with what appeared to be a scrap-yard outside and a soup kitchen customers inside"

Unfortunately I won't be able to make this now as I have trip up to the north east to collect a Renault 25 V6 project. Hopefully next time complete with a rough old 25

Posted

If anyone from Cornwall wants to come up I have some spare brown velour seats in the Saab of shite

The car isn't going to be ready for this, plus we've got an appointment for brookjm_jr to attend so unfortunately won't be able to make this one guys.

Posted

Another shame, hopefully you can make it to the next one.  I'm still free on Saturday if the rest of you are still on for this?

Posted

Soz can't make this one as I'll be at work :( Would have been fun to put some names to faces and shite to faces!!

Posted

I'm in two minds - had planned and would love to make this meet, but the weather looks like it's going to be shite and Liverpool v Arsenal is on live! I may have some family commitments.

As a few cannot make it now might it be an idea to re-schedule this for when it's going to be better weather-wise, maybe later this month or March?

It's got to stop raining one frigging day.

It's true that there are a lot of noes... would rescheduling for the spring bring more people or would we simply repeat the conversation if we tried that?
